Isnt it strange how a £100 note seems like such a large amount when you donate it to the church, but such a small amount when you go shopping? Isnt it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a football game for 60 minutes? Isnt it strange that you cant find things to say when youre praying, but you have no trouble on thinking what to talk about with a friend? Isnt it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel? Isnt it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in the church? Isnt it strange how we need to know about an event for the church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute? Isnt it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say, but we question the words in the Bible? Isnt it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they dont want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Holy Communion to Sick & Housebound

The Eucharistic Ministers will bring Holy Communion to the sick

and housebound who have requested it, today (Sunday) after 9 am Mass and 11am Mass and after 10am Mass in Drumragh.

Annual Grandparents Pilgrimage to Knock

The 8th National Grandparents pilgrimage to Our Lady's Shrine at Knock takes place on Sunday 14th September. There will be a Blessing of the sick at 2.30 pm and Mass at 3 pm. The Chief Celebrant of the Mass will be Archbishop Charles Brown, Papal Nuncio. Everyone is welcome. Children are invited to compose a prayer for their Grandparents and send it to CGA Office, Castlebar Street, Westport, Co. Mayo. Children’s Puppet Shows The Select Vestry St Columba's Parish Church are hosting two Puppet Shows for children aged 3 - 11 years on Saturday 13th September in the main hall of St Columba's Parish Hall. Entrance to both shows is free. Places are limited so we are offering each of our neighbouring parishes the opportunity to bring up to a maximum of 30 children to each show. We would also ask that your group is accompanied by at least two responsible adults.
