Trish Porter, coordinator of the Function Committee had this to say about the event: I have been playing with words the past few days to express my gratitude to you all for your help in making Sunday's event so successful but I have not been able to find the right words so I thought I would just say a few things that are floating around in my head. I am blown away by the passion, devotion and hard work I saw from so many on Sunday, it continues to reaffirm my faith in our community. I am inspired by the YP's, such giving and humble souls, ready to get in there and help when needed, truly a blessing. It was confirming for me as function coordinator to see so many members step up and use their natural gifts to ensure the success of the event, both people that could attend and those who could not. To see the glowing faces of the parishioners as they left warmed my heart. The way the various ministries worked together and did what they could and were so good at, a real affirmation of community togetherness. From the bottom of my heart I wish to thank you all, especially our faith filled teacher Fr Jude, without you we would not be who we are as a parish. Regards, Trish Porter NEW PARISHIONERS MASS AND WELCOME BBQ Congratulations to our Catholic College Thomas Carr which celebrated 20 years of its life. During the week we witnessed the unveiling of the life size bronze statue of Thomas Carr, the College Patron, the Cathedral Mass of Thanksgiving with past and present priests, principals and staff members and the launching of the book “Shining in the West” by author and part time chaplain, Larry Burn. Congratulations to Dr Andrew Watson, the College staff, students and parents (past and present) and the Parishes that make up our Regional College.
