FR. NESTORIO FOR HIS VACATION: Fr Nestorio is planning to have his annual vacation beginning from August 10, 2016. He will be traveling to Uganda and returns the second week of September. Let us include father in our prayers that he may have a restful vacation and that he may have a safe trip to and from home.
ST. ANGELA MERICI SCHOOL REGISTRATION: St. Angela Merici School is now accepting applications for 2016-2017 school year grades 1-6. Financial assistance available. For more information please call 718-293-3365.
THE TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD: Saturday August 6, 2016 will the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Although we will be celebrate the Liturgy of the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time, let us also keep in mind this Feast on that day.
THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY: Monday August 15, 2016 we will celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On that day there will be Mass in English in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 1:00p.m and 7:30p.m. in Spanish. You are welcome to bring to the church field products, garden or orchards for blessing.
VOLUNTEERS TO TEACH CATECHISM: Please we
request parishioners who are able and willing to volunteer to teach catechism to either children or Adults in our religious education Program (CCD) in English or Spanish, to please fill the relevant forms provided at the back of the Church or call our parish secretary at 718-293-0984.
REGISTRATION FOR CCD: We have begun our annual Registration of children and Adults who wish to join our religious education classes CCD to receive any of the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Holy Communion and confirmation. To register for Baptism classes one must come with his/her own Birth Certificate. To register for Holy Communion classes one has to bring his/her own Baptism Certificate. Those for confirmation classes must bring both Baptism and communion certificates. Registration is done in our parish office during week days from 9:30 to 4:00pm and every Saturday from 10:00am to 12:30pm. However Our CCD forms are provided at the back of the Church for all Children and Adults who wish to join our Religious education program (CCD). Each student has to bring a contribution of $50.00. Classes will begin on September 3rd 2016. For more information call 7182930984.

We are born of the faith of our fathers, descending from a great cloud of witnesses whose faith is attested to on every page of Scripture. We have been made His people, chosen for His own inheritance, as we sing in this Sunday’s Psalm. The Liturgy this week sings the praises of our fathers, recalling the defining moments in our "family history." In the Epistle, we remember the calling of Abraham; in the First Reading we relive the night of the Exodus and the summons of the holy children of Israel.
Our fathers, we are told, trusted in the Word of God, put their faith in His oaths, convinced that what He promised, He would do. None of them lived to see His promises made good. For it was not until Christ and His Church that Abraham's descendants were made as countless as the stars and sands. It was not until His Last Supper and the Eucharist that "the sacrifice...the divine institution" of that first Passover was truly fulfilled.
And we now too await the final fulfillment of what God has promised us in Christ. As Jesus tells us in this week’s Gospel, we should live with our loins girded—as the Israelites tightened their belts, cinched up their long robes and ate their Passover standing, vigilant and ready to do His will. The Lord will come at an hour we do not expect—will knock on our door inviting us to the wedding feast in the better homeland, the heavenly one that our fathers saw from afar, and which we begin to taste in each Eucharist.
As they did, we can wait with "sure knowledge," His Word like a lamp lighting our path . Our God is faithful and if we wait in faith, hope in His kindness, and love as we have been loved, we will receive His promised blessing, be delivered from death.

INSCRIPCIÓN PARA EL CCD: Hemos comenzado nuestra registración anual de los niños y adultos que deseen unirse a nuestras clases de educación religiosa CCD para recibir alguno de los sacramentos de la iniciación cristiana: Bautismo, Comunión y Confirmación. Para inscribirse en las clases de bautismo debe traer su certificado de nacimiento. Para inscribirse en las clases de la Sagrada Comunión tiene que traer su certificado de bautismo. Para las clases de confirmación debe traer los certificados del bautismo y de comunión. La inscripción se hace en nuestra oficina de la parroquia durante los días de semana 9:30-4:00pm y los sábados 10 a.m.-12:30p.m.. Sin embargo los formularios del CCD están en la parte posterior de la Iglesia. Cada estudiante debe traer una contribución de $50.00. Las clases comenzarán el 3 de septiembre 2016. CATEQUISTAS VOLUNTARIOS: Humildemente pedimos a los feligreses que puedan y estén dispuestos a ser voluntarios para enseñar el catecismo a los niños o los adultos en nuestro Programa del CCD en Inglés o Español, ponerse en contacto con Sr. María Pagan.

LA TRANSFIGURATION DEL SENOR: El Sábado, 06 de
Agosto de 2016 la fiesta de la Transfiguración del Señor.
Aunque celebramos la liturgia en el domingo 19 del tiempo
ordinario, que también tenga en cuenta esta fiesta ese día.
LA ASUNCION DE LA SANTISIMA VIRGIN MARIA: El Lunes, 15 de agosto de 2016 celebraremos la fiesta de la Asunción de la Santísima Virgen María. Ese día habrá Misa en inglés en honor a la Santísima Virgen María en 1:00p.m y 7:30 en español. Todos están invitados y traigan productos del campo ejemplo: plantas o huertos . Después de la misa habrá bendición.
ULTREYA DEL CAMPO: El movimiento de "Cursillos de Cristiandad" de la Arquidiócesis de Nueva York tendrá su tradicional celebración anual, "Ultreya del Campo", el 21 de Agosto 2016, la tarifa del autobús: $ 15 dólares p/p. poco." Jesus nos dice, "Estén preparados porque a la hora
en que menos lo piensen vendrá el Hijo del hombre." Es
una admonición seria, pero también de mucha esperanza. No importa lo que tu o yo hemos hecho, no importa
nuestra condición actual, podemos hacer un nuevo

comienzo. Jesus nos dice que lo importante es lo que estamos haciendo cuando el regrese. Podemos preguntarnos porque ese momento es tan importante. Cristianos de los primeros siglos comparaban nuestra vida a un alfarero con el barro. Cuando el barro este mojado puede tener cualquier forma, pero al ponerlo en el horno, su forma esta fija. La muerte es el fuego que nos fija
eternamente - con el corazón abierto para recibir a Jesus o
dándole la espalda. En el Ave Maria, pedimos a nuestra Madre rogar por nosotros ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte. Son los dos
momentos que importan. Ayer se ha ido, mañana quizás
no será. Nuestras peleas serán pequeñas cuando venga Jesus. Y queremos tener la mente clara - no abusando el alcohol, las drogas o el sexo. Podemos olvidar que seria es
la vida. Podemos pensar que la vida es un accidente
cósmico. O que tendremos siempre otra oportunidad.
Muchos creen en la reencarnación no porque es tan razonable, sino porque parece ofrecer muchas oportunidades para cambiar. Jesus rechaza esa forma de pensar. La vida es seria y hay cuatro cosas finales: muerte,
juicio, cielo e infierno. El teólogo famoso, el padre Hans
Urs Von Baltasar dijo, "es indispensable que todo cristiano sea enfrentado, con completa seriedad, la posibilidad de ser perdido." Algunos dicen que si nos enfocamos en la vida futura - cielo e infierno - vamos a descuidar este mundo. Pero en realidad es el contrario. Los que enfocan en la eternidad muchas veces son los que hacen mas en este mundo. Piensen en la Madre Teresa. Quien hizo mas
para los desamparados? La Madre Teresa muestra que los
que enfocan en recibir a Jesus harán el bien para gente en
la tierra. La parabola aplica también a instituciones. Las que mas va valoremos - por ejemplo, hospitales y
universidades - tienen su orígenes en la Edad Media, fundadas por gente de fe cristiana profunda.

JUBILEO DE LA MISERICORDIA Señor Jesucristo, tu has ensenado a ser misericordioso como el Padre del cielo, y nos has dicho que quien te ve, lo ve también a El. Muéstranos tu rostro y obtendremos la salvación. Tu mirada llena de amor libero a Zaqueo y a Mateo de la esclavitud del dinero; a la adultera y a la Magdalena de buscar la felicidad solamente en una creatura; hizo llorar a Pedro luego de la traición y aseguro el Paraíso al ladrón arrepentido.
Haz que cada uno de nosotros escuche como propia la palabra que dijiste a la samaritana: Si conocieras el don de Dios! Tu eres el rostro visible del Padre invisible, del Dios que manifiesta su omnipotencia sobre todo con el perdón y la misericordia: haz que, en el mundo, la iglesia sea el rostro visible de Ti, su Señor, resucitado y glorioso. Tu has querido que también tus ministros fueran revestidos de debilidad para que sientan sincera compasión por los que se encuentran en la ignorancia o en el error: haz quien se acerque a uno de ellos se sienta esperado, amado y perdonado por Dios. Manda tu Espíritu y conságranos a todos con su unción para que el Jubileo de la Misericordia sea un ano de gracia del Señor y tu Iglesia pueda, con renovado entusiasmo, llevar la Buena Nueva a los pobres proclamar la libertad a los prisioneros y oprimidos y restituir la vista a los ciegos. Te lo pedimos por intercesión de María, madre de la Misericordia, a ti que vives y reinas con el Padre y el Espíritu Santo por los siglos de los siglos. OF MERCY. Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “if you knew the gift of God!” You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: Let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God. Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of Grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
