Reminder of Parking Lot Courtesies Summer is here and with the increase of new visitors to ICC, here are a few reminders of parking courtesy . . .

You are invited to drop off passengers at the front walkway to the Gathering Area, but this is an emergency lane and parking is NOT allow at any time.

Handicap parking is available in the front and

side of the church designated by signs. Please be good stewards and park ONLY in lined

parking spots. There is additional parking along the side of the church with a second entrance to the Gathering Area in the back.

Our Church is located on a very busy highway.

To ensure a safe and speedy exiting of the parking lot we have paid Sheriff Deputies directing traffic. Please watch them carefully and follow their lead.

We know everyone wants to be courteous and stop

and allow people out of their parking spot, but that interrupts the flow of exiting. The Sheriff Deputies have asked us to remind everyone that they are allowed to stop traffic for only 15 minutes at a time, so it is very helpful to keep the flow going while the traffic is stopped.

Lets all do our part and keep everyone safe and

accident proof!

Holy Year of Mercy

Carolina Catholic talks to Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie

For our first show in June, we speak with Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie, a medical doctor, mother of five, and a policy advisor for The Catholic Association. She writes and speaks in both Spanish and English about Catholicism, religious freedom, and the intersection of faith and science. As a Hispanic, she brings a special focus on social issues that affect the growing Latino population, such as the state of the family and the real needs of the poor and marginalized. As a physician, she is able to address complex subjects relating to government health policy and its true impact on the people it purports to help. We focus in this show on her May 9, 2016 opinion piece in the New York Post entitled, “The ACLU’s deadly anti-Catholic vendetta," which challenges this report from the ACLU: Health Care Denied. This show will air on Wilmington Catholic Radio on stations 91.7 FM, 93.1FM, and 103.1 FM the first two weekends of June, Saturdays at 11 am and Sundays at 6 pm. That's Saturday, June 4 and 11, at 11 am and Sunday, June 5 and 12, at 6 pm. This show can also be heard on our website at wilmingtoncatholicradio.com.

Terra Lingua/Terre des Langues Are seeking host families in our church community, June 14 - July 13 or June 20 - July 22 for Spanish students. Host families are sought to provide a safe and caring home environment for high school students from France and Spain. No special activities are required, simply to expose the students to the typical American way of life. The students, ages 13 to 18 will be accompanied by three language teachers. They all aspire to practice English and learn about American culture firsthand. It is also an opportunity to expose American children to a foreign language and share an appreciation of another culture. The visiting children are fully insured, have at least three years of English, and come with their own spending money. Families interested should go to the website: www.tltlhost.com for an application or by contacting prof. Frederic Fladenmuller directly at (252) 754-2136, [email protected]. Please contact as soon as possible—time is of the essence! Grandparents, single parents, or couples without children are also welcome to apply.

We need constantly to contemplate the mystery of mercy. It is a wellspring of joy, serenity, and peace. Our

salvation depends on it. Mercy: the word reveals the very mystery of the Most Holy Trinity. Mercy: the

ultimate and supreme act by which God comes to meet us. Mercy: the fundamental law that dwells in the heart of every person who looks sincerely into the eyes of his

brothers and sisters on the path of life. Mercy: the bridge that connects God and man, opening our hearts to a hope of being loved forever despite our sinfulness.
