You can choose a memorial that becomes the permanent resting place for your loved one, amongst our exquisitely manicured gardens, tranquil waterways or natural parkland areas.

CREATING A MEMORIAL FOR A LOVED ONE
A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEOWelcome to the Spring edition of Park News. It certainly seems that Spring has sprung early this year! The weather has been unseasonly warm early and the flowers and fauna in the Park have been jerked into action earlier than usual.
The good weather has seen heightened activity in the Park and recent events held at the Park have sported increased numbers as well. Our Mother’s Day Service, for example, saw over 120 attendees enjoy the moving service followed by refreshments al fresco!
Throughout we continue to serve our community with our renowned excellent levels of service. Please don’t hesitate to call on us, for whatever reason, if it helps to ease your mind on any issue that we can assist you with. We’re here to help!

GREEK ORTHODOX CHAPEL This traditional-style chapel will provide a central focal point and place where memorial services will be held for the many families of Greek Orthodox faith who live within our community. It is anticipated the dedication service will take place early next year.
The memorial service for Mother’s Day was hosted in our South Chapel. It was a beautiful sunny day on Sunday 12th May and we were very pleased to see many familiar faces and new attendees, with a record attendance of over 130 people.
“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for putting on the Mother’s Day Service in the South Chapel. I lost my mother this year and I was so pleased to receive your invitation and attend the service. It gave me a better way to commemorate her passing. The ceremony itself was so gentle, warm and caring. I particularly liked the candle and note writing. Thank you again.”

On Tuesday 20th August 2013 Eastern Suburbs Funeral Services, as the host member, hosted the Maroubra & District Chamber of Commerce for its “Meet the Candidates” luncheon. More than 75 of its local business members heard speak Labour candidate Matt Thistlethwaite, Liberal candidate Prof Michael Feneley AM and Palmer United Party candidate Diane Happ, for the upcoming Federal Election for the seat of Kingsford-Smith.
A magnificent luncheon showcasing the quality service and catering provided by the Park Café Condolence Centre.Those attending were able to hear from the candidates, their agenda, how each party’s policies will impact on small businesses and had the opportunity to ask them many questions. It was at times very lively and an informative time was had by all.
On a 3rd consecutive year, Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park was again the major sponsor of the 2013 Randwick City Business Excellence Awards, which recognise and reward local businesses within our community.
The Gala Dinner took place on the 28th August with over 530 guests. Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists of these prestigious awards.
Sunday 1st September - On a beautiful Spring day, our Father’s Day Service was attended by over 120 people, which is a statement as to how important these services are for our community.

As part of our Community Engagement Program, Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park alongside Eastern Suburbs Funeral Services hosted a Community Fete on the 23rd August at Goodhew Gardens, part of Anglican Retirement Villages in Taren Point.
The day was an enormous success, not only for the funds raised for the Activity Program and Palliative Care Team, but also for the community building extended outside Woolooware Shores, with so many people donating their skills and attending on the day.
