Included within the proposed play space is a new timber and steel play structure with inclusive features, slides, tunnel, monkey bars, rock climbing wall, as well as a basket swing, carriage rocker, a picnic table and seating. Garden beds with informal / indigenous plantings are incorporated within the play space to provide opportunities for natural play and to create habitat for native birds and butterflies. Why Nature Play? Playing outdoors is beneficial for us all, as it helps us connect with nature and allows us to learn, explore and imagine. Play is significant in the development of children’s physical, social and creative skills. Natural play spaces, such as the proposed redevelopment for your local reserve, provide children with the experience of both traditional play equipment and natural elements.
