Kaunas – transport modes hub of Lithuania
• Road: Interconnection point of “Via Baltica” and Minsk- Klaipeda, Kaliningrad roads;
• Water: Connection from Kaunas city to Baltic Sea by Nemunas river;
• Sport and culture: “Žalgiris” Sport and entertainment arena - largest, most modern and most spacious venue in the Baltic countries, space 40 000 m2, seats for sport events 12 300 - 15 442, seats for concerts 2 574 - 17 500

Kaunas – transport modes hub of Lithuania
Air: Kaunas International airport, 3250 x 45 m, 4E • Active operational zone - passengers from Lithuania, Latvia, Belorussia,
Kaliningrad area, North part of Poland;• Direct flights to 19 airports of Europe, carried 809 000 passengers during
2010, increase 10% of passengers and 5% of flights during 2011 10 months;
• First established base of “Ryanair” in Central and East Europe with 2 aircrafts since 2010 May. In 2012 next expansion: after centers in UK and Germany to establish maintenance and service center in Kaunas (€ 3,5 M);
• Cargo: 4449 T in 2010, logistics companies (DHL, UPS, UAB "Hoptransa“).

Expectations regarding the possible benefits from RBGC – WP7
Kaunas Railway station connectivity and area development:
• study of passenger’s flows between Kaunas Railway station and International airport;
• detail or /and technical planning of Kaunas Railway station surroundings (PT stops, parking areas).

RB development

• Fulfill feasibility study of Kaunas Public Logistic Terminal and interoperability along RB;
• Give input to promotion campaign for global trade flows in RB route;
• Organize Regional round-table conferences;• Give input to creation of Rail Baltica Growth Strategy and Action
Programs;• Give input to creation of Rail Baltica Memorandum; • Fulfill documents of Kaunas Railway station connectivity and area
development.
