Dear fellow art lovers: Our Grand Re-opening was a rousing success, with several hundred people in attendance! The Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, and our tireless workers provided food and beverages for one and all. We cannot remember such an outpour- ing of support from the community at large, and the Board thanks one and all for being a part of an exciting new journey for PAA. The gallery and studios are filled with art of all genres, so bring your friends to see the talent displayed. Plan to be a part of the next show, which will be our first juried show in our new home. If you haven’t renewed your membership, now is the time, and ask a friend to join with you as a supporter of the arts. Joy Harvey, President

BUNCO LOVERS

October 13th, 1pm is the the next Bunco fund raiser at our new gallery.

The Bunco games have turned out to be one of our biggest money makers of the year. We will need your help again to make it a success.

This year it is more important than ever to make this party a huge profi table success. Our wonderful new gallery also comes with bigger bills than in the past and your board members are working hard to bring exciting, creative new artists and shows to you. So again, I ask for your help.

We need donations of miniature original art, new unused beautiful or cute home decor items, pottery, jewelry, gift certifi cates for salons, food places, car washes, oil changes, groceries or whatever for our raffl e prizes.

We also need people to bring card tables and chairs, help with setting up, selling tickets, people to help with the food and a cleanup crew.

Call Carol Byker at 784-6678 to sign up for helping out or donating items.

We also need several large gifts for our special prizes. We already have a nice toaster oven donated. Ticket sales for these raffl e items are the biggest part of our income from the Bunco parties.

Lets make this the biggest and best Bunco party Porterville has ever seen. Carol Byker, Vice President

THREE LINDSAY LADIES - Arts Exeter

I attended the reception in Exeter for the Three Lind-say Ladies. It was well attended by area artists and friends of the artists. Not a parking place was in site as I arrived. The show was very exciting and diverse with photos, by Virginia Wilson, pastels by LaWanda Wollenman and beautiful gourds by Sam McKinney. I spoke with many friends, had some good food and enjoyed some wonderful art. What else could you ask for on a lazy summer afternoon? Submitted by Carol Byker

I KNOW YOU’VE HEARD THIS BEFORE BUT WE STILL NEED YOU!!!

Volunteers are needed to help keep the Art Gallery open. We need a minimum of two volunteers per day every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for three hour shifts. Because our new gallery is so large, 2 volunteers per 3-hour shift would be ideal.

If you are interested in volunteering one morning (10:00am - 1:00pm) or one afternoon (1:00pm - 4:00pm) a month or more, please contact Judy Orth at: 559-972-3535 or call the gallery at: 559-784-4323

P.S. We could also use help contacting people to fi ll our calendar with sitters.
