Part-time Youth Leader/Intern Profile Crossroads Church of Kansas City, MO

Hours: Part-time salaried position, 6-8 hours per week Expectations:

1. Have a heart and passion for youth and their families 2. Be committed to personal spiritual development, prayer, and scripture reading 3. Collaborate with pastor and other staff members 4. Understand and support the mission of Crossroads Church

Responsibilities: 1. Establish and nurture relationships with and between youth and their families 2. Provide teaching and opportunities for spiritual growth for middle and high school youth during

the Sunday School hour. 3. Plan and organize a monthly event for middle and high school students, offering opportunities to

build relationships, grow in their faith, serve in community, and have fun 4. Organize and coordinate 2-4 youth fundraisers per year 5. Organize and attend youth mission trip on odd-numbered summers (2021, 2023) and participate

in Crossroads church camp to the Rockies on even-numbered years (2020, 2024), including organization of activities for youth.

6. Encourage youth to participate in worship and develop their worship leadership gifts 7. Attend bi-monthly staff meetings to collaborate with staff on engaging students in the larger life

of the church 8. Recruit and support lay volunteers in the youth department 9. Communicate and promote opportunities, events, and ministries within the scope of this position

with youth families and larger congregation 10. Be aware of and observe all the appropriate policies of the church

Qualifications: 1. A high school diploma or equivalent education; college degree preferred 2. Some equivalent or related experience in a leadership role with youth

Internship Addendum: 1. Mentoring provided by pastor 2. Opportunities available for learning experiences in the pulpit, pastoral care, spiritual growth,

education, working with lay leadership, and more if desirable 3. Open to adjusting responsibilities to coordinate with educational internship requirements
