MEET THE USTA

The U.S. Tennis Association is the national governing body of tennis. A not-for-profit organization with over 715,000 members nationwide, it invests 100% of its proceeds in growing the game. The USTA owns and operates the US Open, one of the highest-attended annual sporting events in the world.

ABOUT OUR SECTIONThe USTA Hawaii Pacific Section is one of 17 geographic sections within the national organization. Incorporated in 1973, our Section now embraces over 7,500 individual members in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas. The Hawaii Pacific Section is a volunteer-based organization dedicated promoting tennis opportunities for adults and juniors of all abilities and cultural backgrounds.

TENNIS: A POPULAR SPORTOne of the fastest growing traditional sports, tennis attracts over 18 million players in the United States. In Hawaii, approximately 10% of all local residents play tennis, an estimated 130,000 people. Hawaii also has the highest percentage of frequent tennis players in the United States.
