For half of our nation’s undergraduate students, community college is a practical pathway to the American dream. In our area, El Camino College proudly educates and prepares over 30,000 students a year to become the future employees and leaders of our community.

The Foundation helps ensure that all El Camino College students, regardless of their financial situation or background, have the support they need to achieve a college education with a degree or certificate from our institution.

“With the support of our partners in the community, we’ll serve many students and help them realize their dreams.”

El Camino is one of the top 100 community colleges in the nation. This is due to academic excellence in all areas of study, consistently high transfer rates to four-year universities and exceptional career and technical training.

The College offers 99 degrees and 83 certificates taught by nearly 1,000 full and part-time faculty. As the world becomes more dependent on technology, we offer the best in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education through programs in engineering, physics, manufacturing technology, healthcare, computer information systems and more.

Community Partnerships support the

educational success of all students

The Foundation supports programs aimed at student success. Beginning in high school, South Bay Promise students receive special instruction and counseling that eases the transition to college and keeps them on track to transfer to a four-year college.

Students who can afford to enroll full-time are more likely to complete their degree in two years, saving significant time and money over their lifetimes. The Foundation distributes $1 million in scholarships annually allowing students to focus on their studies.

Books can cost as much as tuition. Foundation scholarships also cover books, so their expenses do not interfere with student success.
