PASGT Helmet Upgrade Kits

Gentex offers two styles of Suspension and Retention Upgrade Kits for the U.S.

Army PASGT and most PASGT-style helmets. Both types of helmet upgrade kits

can dramatically improve the comfort, fit and stability of ballistic ground troop helmets.

One of the Suspension and Retention Upgrade Kit features a Headband/Crown

Pad Suspension and 4-Point Retention System. The other Kit features an Adjustable

Pad Suspension and 4-Point Retention System. Both systems provide multiple

adjustments to ensure a comfortable helmet fit.

Headband/Crown Pad Suspension and

Retention System features

Retention

• Attaches at 4 points using existing fastening locations.

• Large, sheepskin leather nape pad with foam cushioning

and front/back adjustments anchor the helmet securely

and prevent forward rotation.

• Split chinstrap with suede insert is removable for

cleaning and replacement.

• Retention will withstand a 115 pound pull test.

Headband/Crown Pad

• Foam filled, sheepskin leather headband with hook and

pile adjustment and fastening system is removable for

cleaning and replacement.

• An open mesh crown pad provides comfort and ventilation.

• Single drawstring height adjustment ensures best fit and

compatibility with Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).

Pad Suspension

• 8 pads are included in the helmet upgrade kit.

• All pads can be varied in thicknesses for uniform

compression. The sizing pads provide bump protection

(within limitations cited in the user’s manual) and

minimize pressure points. The cover of the pads can

be opened to remove or add foam.

• The crown pads are half-moon shaped and can be

separated to accommodate the headband of a headset.

• All pads are held in place by hook tape bonded to the

helmet shell, and can be positioned as necessary.
