Pashtanay (Pakhtanay) Qabilay ’’ { Pashtun’s (Pukhtun’s) Tribes } BRIEF :- Qais Abdul Rashid, who is believed to be one of the progenitors of the Pashtoons or Afghans, lived in the Suleiman mountains near Zhob. He was born in 575 AD and died in 661 AD. Natives call the place where he is buried "Da Kase Ghar" (the mountain of Qais). The Chinese pilgrim Hiven Tsiang who visited India in 629 AD, described the Afghans as living in Zhob. The area was ruled by Nadir Shah from 1736 to 1747 and by Ahmed Shah Abdali from 1747 to 1773. It was part of the Afghan dynasty when the British penetrated it in 1881. Qais Abdur Rashid (Pashto: ) born Imraul Kase, commonly known as Kase is the mythical ancestor of the Afghan Race, thought to be the first Pashtun who travelled to Mecca and Medina during the early days of Islam. Qais Abdur Rashid was born in the Sulaiman Mountains, geographically modern day provinces of Zabul, Afghanistan and Zhob in Balochistan (Southern Pashtunkhwa), Pakistan. Upon hearing about the advent of Islam, he was sent by his tribe to Arabia. He met the Islamic prophet Muhammad and embraced Islam, and was given the name Abdur Rashid by Muhammed(SAW). It is also claimed that the famous warrior companion, Khalid ibn al-Walid introduced Qais Abdur Rashid to Muhammad. QAIS (KASE) is said to be the common ancestor of all Pashtuns, all tribes being progeny from his sons or daughters.
