HSC Code Ch.8 (Passenger and cargo high speed craft) At least one SAR locating device shall be carried MSC 259(84) on each side of every passenger HSC and every cargo high-speed craft > 500 gt. MSC 260(84) Reg.8.2.1.2 (High speed craft) Requirement for "Radar transponders" is replaced by a requirement MSC 259(84) Reg.14.6.1.3 for "Search and rescue locating devices", which includes Radar transponders and AIS SART (both HSC 1994 and 2000). SOLAS II-2 Reg. 9.7.6 (Passenger ships) Ventilation systems for main laundries in ships with > 36 passengers MSC 216(82)shall be fitted with removable filters, fire damper, remote shutting arrangements for the fans and hatches for inspection.

III Reg. 7.2.1 (Passenger ships) For voyages <24 h, a number of infant lifejackets = at least 2.5% of MSC 201(81)the number of passengers on board shall be provided.For voyages >24 h, infant lifejackets shall be provided for each infant on board - application to ALL passenger ships as per MSC.1/Circ.1304.

III Reg. 7.2.5 (Passenger ships) If the adult lifejackets provided are not designed to fit persons weighing MSC 201(81)up to 140 kg and with a chest girth of up to 1,750 mm, a sufficient number of suitable accessories shall be available on board to allow them to be secured to such persons. Application to ships built > 01/07/1998, but dates to be clarified during next MSC87.

HSC Code 13.14.2 (High speed crafts) All craft, including existing craft, should be fitted with an ECDIS MSC 221(82)not later than 1 July 2010.

LSA Code Ch. 2 (Passenger ships) Lifejackets shall be provided in three sizes (Infant, Child, Adult). MSC 207(81)Par. 2.2.1.2 Lifejackets shall be marked by either weight or height, or by both weight and height -

application to ALL passenger ships as per MSC.1/Circ.1304.
