Alumni Foundation will be hosting a Homecoming Carnival before the game from 11am-2pm on the practice field. Registration for returning students begins November 1st. Be sure to contact the Office of Student Success to find out who your advisor is. Success Tips Tips for conquering your midterms: 1. Plan ahead. Make a study schedule and organize your time properly. Be sure to schedule breaks in between studying! 2. Don’t Cram. If you organize your time correctly, you won’t need to cram last minute. 3. Find or create a study group. All of your classmates are studying for the same test so reach out and create a study group. 4. Unplug. is might be the harded step to follow, but disconnect from all social media outlets during your study time. It will keep you from getting distracted and help you finish on time. 5. Ask your instructor for help. Don’t be afraid to approach your instructor and ask for the best ways to prepare for their test. 6. Stay healthy. Make sure you don’t over work yourself, eat healthy, and get enough sleep! Sarah Spence, Major: Molecular Biology Q: What were your biggest challenges your first semester? A: My biggest challenges my first semester were time management and having to adjust to spending more time and energy into study and course work for my classes. In high school I rarely had homework and I could rely on studying the night before tests to amek good greades, but in college, it takes a lot more preperation and effort. Q: What is one piece of advice you would give a new student? A: My biggest advice would be making sure to manage your time wisely. Make time to have fun and relax, but more importantly, make time to get your clas work and other responsibilties taken care of so you aren’t stressing about due dates last minute. At this point in the semester, you might begin to face more challenges, such as homesick- ness or the stress of midterms. ere are several online resources with tips for battling homesickness so be sure to check them out if this is something you’re dealing with. With midterms approaching, make sure you utilize all of our on-campus resources to help you overcome your studying obstacles. We have several places on campus that offer support for studying: Student Success Center, CEC, Student Support Services, Math Lab. e best way to succeed is to stay organized. Outline your exam times along with study times for each class. Make sure you schedule time for breaks too! Visit the Wellness Center and the Student Life Center during your study breaks to give your mind time to relax and refresh. Check out the PRCC website for operating hours of the Wellness Center and the Student Life Center.
