Vol. X No. 38 March 16, 2015 PAST PRESIDENTS HOST AN EXOTIC FELLOWSHIP EVENING The evening setting was perfect by the poolside, yellow shimmering waters, teasing raindrops playing catch-me-if-you can, happy chatter and laughter of us family of RCND. Men dressed in their evening best with jackets, jodhpurs, hats, boots, dhotis, and kurtas. Women spattered bright lively colors in their shararas, dresses, and churidaar kameez!! The stage set for a fashion fiesta and the catwalk! PP Rtn. Madhumati Singh was playing her songs selection to match the mood and seating was strictly man-woman mix to help mixing around the group. First fun game was finding your number in the other gender and pairing up to perform something interesting for 2 minutes each couple. We had a range of creativity like songs, enacting on a song sung, dance a slow dance, poem, jokes, singing a duet etc. Everybody participated with tremendous joy and merriment! With music playing in the background, cool breeze and clouds floating above us, the evening glowed with Antakshari while everybody dined. Men vs women and songs starting from word “Hawaa” or its synonyms. It was a draw and men got saved because of Rtn. Kamal Bhambhani. The prize for best dressed man and woman and for best couple performance will be given on the next coming meeting. And not carry forward. So be there otherwise you’ll miss your prize. PP Rtn. Madhumati Singh also announced the April Dinner meeting at Palika Services Officers Institute in Chanakyapuri by the poolside with the TRIOBAND who coudn’t perform at IHC due to their rules! So let’s keep up our tempo of fellowship and happy times of large attendance with Spouses in RCND forthcoming meetings. The initiative for organising this meeting was with the idea that we all must gel together. 1. The 481st Regular Weekly club Meeting, a very special Meeting, hosted by Past Presidents of the club, held on saturday 14th March 2015 at Poolside Lawns adjacent to The Deck at India Habitat centre, was called to order by President Rtn. Vinod Gupta.

2. PP Rtn. Madhumati singh welcomed everyone individually on arrival as Members trickled in and requested some of the Ladies to explain the beautiful attires of different hues they were wearing.

3. Visiting overseas Rotarian from UsA, PP Rtn. Karuna sabharwal was welcomed to the Meeting. Karuna is a frequent visitor to our club and it appears as if she is a part of RcnD family.

4. Mr. sameer Batra, a prospective Member, son of PDG Rtn. Rajesh Batra was extended a very warm and special welcome on arrival, accompanied by his gracious and charming wife Ruchi. Both were welcomed and greeted with a loud applause.

5. President Vinod Gupta said this is a very special Meeting and profusely congratulated PP Rtn. Pran Mehta, PP Rtn. Madhumati singh and PP Rtn. Ranjit singh sahni for organising this wonderful fellowship evening today evening.

6. President said we are a 100% PHF club. We are also a 100% eReY club. We must maintain this. We would like all our new Members to become Paul Harris Fellows by contributing $ 100 to TRF. We also want all our Members to contribute some amount to TRF this year to enable our club to maintain our status of 100% eReY club.

7. President informed that PDG Asoke Ghosh has contributed a sum of ` 10 lakhs to TRF this year. Rtn. Mahesh chand Gupta has contributed ` 90,000 and Rtn. cdr c.P. sharma has contributed ` 11,000 to TRF. I (Vinod Gupta) am also contributing ` 3 lakhs to TRF. Besides some Members have already contributed to TRF by participating in the TRF Ball event of our District.

Members are requested to contribute to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).

8. We have lined up very good speakers for our forthcoming meetings. on next Thursday 19th March 2015 we will have Mr. Amit Goel speak to us on Indian stock Markets and also World stock Markets.

A week later on Thursday 26th March 2015, the Vice President of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Ms. Indrani Kapoor will address us on the subject of How to Make More Money.

March is the month of investment planning. The two speakers will inform us about Money making thru’ prudent investing.

on Thursday 2nd April 2015 we have organised a very special evening to felicitate the two recently elected new incoming District Governors of our new R.I. District 3011—–DGn Rtn. Dr. n. subramanian (2016–17) and DGn-D Rtn. Ravi choudhary (2017–18). This special meeting will be held at Ashok Hotel and will be followed by coctails and snacks. DG sanjay Khanna and DGe sudhir Mangla will also be joining us at this special Meeting. President requested all Members to attend this Meeting with their gracious spouses.

9. Members enjoyed the fellowship meet programme moderated by PP Rtn. Madhumati singh. Fun Games, Antakshari, Jokes, songs, Shero-Shairi, Dance. It was an evening of fun & frolic fully enjoyed by all participants with cool chilly breeze and slight drizzle making the atmosphere exotic.

10. There was very good attendance, possibly almost 50 People in all 15 Past Presidents with their spouse and about 10 Members with spouse (some were single in attendance) and a few Guests also.

11. In Attendance Bonus, the lucky winner was Rtn. narendra Kumar Gupta who received the Gift Voucher from Life style.

12. PP Rtn. Kamal Bhambhani and PP Rtn. Madhumati singh kept on keeping the

gathering fully enthralled with Bollywood songs in their melodious voice, while people were enjoying their Drinks and Dinner.

13. sunshine of ` 2440 was collected by Rtn. Vir Philip.

14. PDG Rtn. Asoke K. Ghosh in his concluding remarks said, “I am very happy that so many Rotarians have come and all are enjoying the fellowship evening and sharing camaraderie. There is very good Bonhomie. Rtn. Pran Mehta had taken the initiative to organise this Meeting. Madhumati has organised and conducted the whole programme of this fellowship evening in a very meticulous manner. congratulations and thanks to all the four of you—Pran Mehta, Madhumati, Ranjit singh and President Vinod Gupta. 18 Guys are young in our club. I am also young. sameer & Ruchi, we welcome you and hope that both of you and we all will be happy to have you in RcnD. We all must attend and come to our regular weekly meeting with our ladies so that our meetings become lively”.

15. PP Rtn. Umang Das proposed the formal vote of thanks and thanked the organisers of the meeting and all the members for their large presence and participation.

16. Prizes to best dressed persons and best performers will be given at the next meeting.

17. The meeting was declared adjourned but the music continued to entertain and enthral the gathering.
