FROM THE CO-CHAIRS:Each summer, with the help of numerous community-minded sponsors, the Shakespeare Theatre Company presents the Free For All, a series of free Shakespeare performances for the city of D.C. Now in its 26th year, the Free For All remains our signature outreach program and for the past decade, a coalition of companies has come together to provide essential financial support to keep these two weeks of Shakespeare performances free and accessible to everyone.
Former Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts Jane Alexander, enthused about the Free For All’s importance to Washington: “There was a couple sitting next to me with a very, very young child, and I began to talk to them and I asked: ‘Why are you here?’ And they said, ‘Where else would we have the opportunity to introduce our child to Shakespeare and be able to afford it?’” We are writing to ask that you join Ameriprise, Apartments.com, Douglas Development Corporation, Erkiletian, Gould Property Company and JM Zell Partners, Ltd. in supporting this cornerstone of Washington’s cultural scene and this dynamic community outreach program. Make a difference that will reach the farthest corners of our city and also make a statement about the value of Shakespeare Theatre Company’s outstanding contributions to our national stage.
Free For All is a critical program that ensures, year after year, that exposure to the arts is not a luxury restricted only to those with access; your support of this initiative makes a clear statement that you believe art is fundamental to the health of our city. Your investment reflects your understanding that a vibrant Washington, D.C. includes a strong arts community. An investment in the Free For All Community Partnership will help us ensure that this longstanding Washington treasure can reach the largest possible audience. In return, you will receive significant publicity and exposure across a broad cross-section of Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Also, mark your calendar for a special reception we are hosting during the run of the Free For All to thank all of our Free For All Community Partners. Within this brochure you will find a description of the sponsorship benefits available to you and contact information for the Shakespeare Theatre Company Corporate Giving Office. Please accept our sincere thanks in advance for your serious consideration. We look forward to working with you to make this Free For All a memorable and successful event all around.
Warm regards,
