OOne of the greatest blessings you could everexperience in life is to discover God’s purpose for

your life and to fulfil it. God has a purpose for your life; Heplaced you on earth for a definite purpose. Jesus was on earthfor a specific purpose and He was clear about it. He lived and fulfilled the will of the Father. If you’re born again, the will of the Father and Hispurpose for your life shouldn’t be a mystery to you. LLiving for Jesus Christ and making yourself relevant inthe ministry of reconciliation are what count the

most in life. Everything in your life—your thoughts, ideas, theexcellence in your life—should be about soul winning. Refuseto make the lesser things of life your focus; be all out for theGospel. In 1 Corinthians 9:16, Paul said, “…necessity“…necessity isis laidlaiduponupon me;me; yea,yea, woewoe isis untounto me,me, ifif II preachpreach notnot thethe gospel!”gospel!” Hewas all out for the Gospel. He lived to fulfil God’s dream ofmaking the Gospel known to the Gentiles.

You’re an ambassador and a steward of the mysteriesof Christ. You’re a soldier in Christ’s army and must thereforeremain militant in bringing God’s Word alive to those in yourworld, touching them with the love of Christ and the gloryof His grace. Don’t be comfortable with ignoring the sinnersaround you; the Bible says it’s not the will of God that anyshould perish (2 Peter 3:9). He wants them saved, and He’scounting on you for their salvation.

doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed(James 1:25).

DDoing the Word of God should be natural for you asa Christian, because being born again, you’re born

of the Word (1 Peter 1:23). That means you have the natureof the Word, which gives you the ability to do the Word.Simply living out the Word is the key to an excellent andvictorious life; that’s where the blessing is.

Where some Christians have a problem is that theydon’t know how to do the Word. Some think that doing theWord means “obeying” the Word, no; both thoughts maysound similar, but they’re very different. In the Old Testament,they were told to obey the Word of God. In the NewTestament, we don’t obey the Word of God; we do the Wordof God! In the Old Testament, the Word was to them anoutside force. In the New Testament, it’s an inside force. TheWord lives in us today; we’re born of the Word, and are thus,one with the Word.

You’ll only have to obey the Word if you had adifferent life or nature apart from the Word. God’s Wordis your life, and through the “mirror principle,” He made itpossible for you to live out the Word.

Here’s how it works: The Word of God is the mirror ofGod. The Bible says anyone who hears the Word and doesn’tdo what it says, is like a man who sees himself in a mirror,turns around and forgets what he looks like (James 1:23-24).This means that God expects you to see yourself the way Hesees you in His Word, and then act accordingly.

For example, the Word says you’re a joint-heir withChrist; therefore, you should never talk broke or live as onewho’s disadvantaged in life. The world belongs to you asmuch as it belongs to Christ. All things are yours (1Corinthians 3:21). Irrespective of your feelings or thecircumstances, endorse these truths and act on themaccordingly. The blessing is in acting on the Word, not justhearing or believing it. The creative power of the Wordbecomes effective once ignited by the faith-response fromyour spirit, bringing about a transformation in your life, fromglory to glory.

TThe Lord Jesus, in narrating the parable of the sower,said, “A“A sowersower wentwent outout toto sowsow hishis seed…”seed…” (Luke

8:5). Then in the eleventh verse, He explained that the seedthe sower sowed was the Word of God, letting us know thatwords are seeds, and that what you sow is what you reap. Ifyou sow the right words into your life and future, they’llproduce the right harvest.

Your words are important; steer your life in God’sdirection for you with the right words. Jesus said you shallhave what you say (Mark 11:23). You can’t keep speakingnegatively and expect to have an excellent life. Proverbs 15:4says, “A“A wholesomewholesome tonguetongue isis aa treetree ofof life:life: butbut perversenessperversenessthereintherein isis aa breachbreach inin thethe spirit.”spirit.” A wholesome tongue is onethat speaks life, health, righteousness, and abundance.

Perverseness, on the other hand, means crookedness;inconsistent and contradictory choice of words that deformand destroy the human spirit! Many unknowingly bruise theirspirits when they speak words that are inconsistent with theprovisions of the Gospel. This is why you must consistentlytalk right. Speak forth the blessed Word of God and sustainyourself in the transcendent life.

Your life goes in the direction of your words. If yourwords are excellent, your life will be excellent. Your life todayisn’t an accident; it’s the result of all the words that you’vebeen speaking, positive or negative. Create the future youdesire! Only speak words that are consistent with the gloriouslife of righteousness, peace, health, wealth, and joy that Godhas made available to you in Christ Jesus.

To whom God would make known what is the riches ofthe glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is

Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

IIn Colossians 1, the Apostle Paul spoke plainly whenhe explained the Gospel as it pertains to the Gentiles.

I want you to understand the construction in thetwenty-seventh verse: “…this“…this mysterymystery amongamong thethe Gentiles;Gentiles;whichwhich isis ChristChrist inin you,you, thethe hopehope ofof glory.”glory.”

A “mystery” connotes esoteric communication orlanguage; something revealed, but only to a select few. Thatmystery, the Bible says, is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”What does this truth mean? First, it means glory revealed,glory realized, glory manifested in your life! The reproachesare gone; you now have a life of honour and excellence.

I would to God everyone in the body of Christ wouldunderstand this! For example, when Christ is manifested in thelife of a sinner, the power of sin is broken, and righteousnesstakes effect. When He’s manifested in the life of one who’sbeen bound, the chains are broken, and deliverance takesplace. When He’s manifested in your life, everything that’s ofdarkness is dispelled.

It reminds of Peter’s encounter with Aeneas, who hadbeen paralysed and bedridden for eight years, but he was aChristian. Peter didn’t have to pray for him; all he said was,“Aeneas, Christ makes you well: rise up!” Immediately, theman jumped off his sickbed (Acts 9:33-34). If you’re sick inyour body today, what you need is the manifestation of Christin your physical body. The consciousness of the life of Christ

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantlyabove all that we ask or think, according to the power

that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

GGod is able to do exceeding abundantly above allthat we could ask for or imagine; but He does it,

not according to His power in heaven, but according to Hispower that works in us. This means you have to get thatpower active and working all the time. In Acts 1, just beforethe ascension of the Master, He said to His disciples, “But“But yeyeshallshall receivereceive power,power, afterafter thatthat thethe HolyHoly GhostGhost isis comecome uponuponyou...”you...” (Acts 1:8). To receive the power is the first thing; thenext is to get it working.

Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:6, “…stir“…stir upup thethe giftgiftofof God,God, whichwhich isis inin thee….”thee….” He was referring to the power ofthe Holy Spirit, which can be dormant in your spirit, unlessactivated. One way to activate that power is praying intongues. Another way is through meditation on the Scriptures.When you pray in tongues often, and take out timeconsciously to meditate on the Word, your spirit will alwaysbe aglow.

Understand that a Christian isn’t meant to be begging,“God, please do this or do that for me”; no! He’s one enduedwith the dynamic ability to effect changes; He’s to reign in lifeby Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).

Even though God has got all the power and ability, Hedoesn’t move in on your behalf or move into your situationto do things according to His discretion. “But isn’t Godsovereign?” you might ask. Yes, He is, and in His sovereignty,He’s chosen to work His power through you. You have a rolein the operations of the miraculous and supernatural in your

IIf you study the portion of Scripture referenced abovein context, you’ll realize that the Word didn’t increase

without the disciples. At this time, all they had was the spokenWord; they didn’t have the epistles or the written Word aboutJesus. They went everywhere preaching what they heard andsaw. So, the Word increased because they increased. TheWord went forth in them, and anyone who tried to persecutethem, persecuted the Word. That’s what Jesus said fromheaven when Saul of Tarsus was persecuting the Church (Acts9:4,5).

In Acts 12:24, it gets better, “But“But thethe wordword ofof GodGod grewgrewandand multiplied.”multiplied.” We previously read that the Word of Godincreased, but it’s not enough to increase; there’s got to begrowth and also multiplication. Imagine that as a Pastor, yourchurch is increasing, and then the Lord says to you, “You’vegot to move to the next level; you’ve got to grow.” How’sthat going to happen? MMan doesn’t know reality until he finds Jesus, theSon of the living God. But who exactly is Jesus,

the man of Galilee?First, He’s the Word-incarnate. This is an amazing truth.

Think about it: Your word is the expression of who youare. It’s the expression of your views, opinions, thoughts,emotions, and ideas. In the same way, the Word of God is thetotality of God’s thoughts, ideas, opinions, will, and emotions.John 1:14 tells us that God’s Word was personified, and theresult was the man, Jesus: “And“And thethe WordWord waswas mademade flesh,flesh,andand dweltdwelt amongamong us….”us….”

He’s the expression of the thoughts, will, and emotionsof God. His laughter was God laughing; His smiles were thesmiles of God. When He stretched out His hand, that wasGod stretching out His hand. When He loved, that was God’slove manifested. Everything He did was the expression ofGod.

Secondly, He’s the expression of God’s person. Thismeans He’s the character and essence of God. The Bibletells us something beautiful about Him in Hebrews 1:3: “Who“Whobeingbeing thethe brightnessbrightness ofof hishis glory,glory, andand thethe expressexpress imageimage ofofhishis person….”person….” He’s the perfect personification of the abstractidealism of God. In the world, the term, “God” doesn’tconvey a person; it conveys an idea. God doesn’t make senseto the human mind, because they can’t find or define Him.The Bible, however, presents Jesus as God’s perfect imprint,the icon of the unseen God.

the outshining of the Father’s glory. What does this mean?Imagine the filament of a light bulb. When electric currentpasses through, it glows. The filament is like the Father: He’sthe power, but the outshining is Jesus; He’s the radiance orlight that comes from the Father.

The world doesn’t understand why we can be sopassionate about the man, Jesus. Until you know Jesus, Godwill only be an idea to you. You’re not an ordinary person; you’re a joint heir withthe Monarch of the universe (Romans 8:17). You’re amember of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones (Ephesians5:30); meaning you can’t go anywhere or do anything withoutHim. He’s in you and with you always to guarantee yoursuccess in life. Peter describes our fraternal union with Him ratherbeautifully; he calls us “Partakers of the divine nature”;associates of the God-kind (2 Peter 1:4). Understand that though your body is God’s house, it’syour responsibility to keep it flourishing in health. You havethe right to decide what happens in your body. You don’t operate with human wisdomanymore; you have access to greater wisdom. You haveaccurate insight into reality. You have understanding of thedeepest things in life, and the ability to reason and act right.That’s the operation of the wisdom of Christ in you: a guidingforce or inner working power that leads you and causes youto make the right decisions.

Christ being your wisdom means you’re excellent allthe way. He makes you think what you should think, saywhat you should say, and do what you should do at theright time, in God’s way, for God’s purpose. This is what’sbeen made available to you in Christ Jesus. You have suchextraordinary amplitude of comprehension, superior mentalas well as supernatural sagacity to excel in all that you do: inyour job, business, academics, finances, ministry, etc.

Another part of religion is that man realizes he’s morethan a physical body; he has the intuition that he might be aspiritual being and purposes to find out about it. Therefore,he starts dabbling into ideas and activities that might give himsome consciousness of the spiritual. GGod’s Word first came to man as the “SpokenWord.” The Bible shows that He spoke directly to

men, such as Moses, Joshua, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Healso spoke to men through angels (Hebrews 2:2).

In Hebrews 1:1, we read that God spoke to the fathersthrough the prophets. He then commanded the prophets toput the message He gave them into writing. Thus, from theSpoken Word, we got the “Written Word,” given for thepurpose of witness and evidence. With the Written Word,God’s people could compare His message given to differentprophets, at different times, and see a consistency. This way,they’d always know what to do, where to go, and how Godwanted them to live.

God yet moved further, and this time He spoke HisWord in a most remarkable way, through the Man, ChristJesus—the Word incarnate. The Word became flesh. SinceGod had already given His people the Written Word, it waseasy to judge and examine if anyone who claimed to be theMessiah was right or wrong. John 1:45 declares, “…We“…We havehavefoundfound him,him, ofof whomwhom MosesMoses inin thethe law,law, andand thethe prophets,prophets, diddidwrite,write, JesusJesus ofof Nazareth….”Nazareth….”

After the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,we see a new dispensation of the “Spoken Word.” This time,God wasn’t speaking through the prophets of the OldTestament, but through the Apostles, and then those whobelieved in their message. In Mark 16:15, Jesus said to His

IIn our previous study, we alluded to the fact that Godcommanded His prophets to write the Word for the

purpose of witness and evidence. But there was somethingmore—a better purpose for which He wanted the Wordwritten: It was for meditation. Having the Word in writtenform created images in their minds, far better than whatanyone could tell them. They could read it repeatedly, andcommunicate the same truths, without having to alter anyword or sentence.

When you deliver information by oral tradition,there’re bound to be changes as it moves from onegeneration to another; but not when it’s written. When it’swritten, the substance or core of the message is retained.That’s how come today you can read, recite, and meditate onthe Word in its originality. Moreover, what you meditate uponfeeds your spirit, and literally transforms you. That’s why Godwrote the Law for Moses on tablets of stone. Even when thetablets got broken, God commanded Him to get another set,and he did, and gave it to the children of Israel, commandingthem to meditate on it. He knew that if they meditated on itlong enough, it would produce results and cause them to liveand act accordingly.

There’re Christians who have a hard time followingGod’s Word and His ways of doing things. It’s because theydon’t spend time to meditate on the Scriptures. If you’dmeditate on God’s Word, you wouldn’t need to make an

The new creation is created to love. Observe ouropening verse again; it doesn’t say, “But the fruits of the spiritare…”; rather, it’s specific. It says, “…the fruit of the spirit islove…,” letting you know that love is the dominant fruit of therecreated human spirit. It’s important that you understand andwalk in the dimensions of God’s love.

In Ephesians 3:16-19, Paul reveals the four dimensionsof God’s love: the breadth, length, depth, and height of Hislove. He then prays for the Church to comprehend thesefacets of divine love: “...that“...that ye,ye, beingbeing rootedrooted andand groundedgroundedinin love,love, maymay bebe ableable toto comprehendcomprehend withwith allall saintssaints whatwhat isisthethe breadth,breadth, andand length,length, andand depth,depth, andand height;height; AndAnd toto knowknowthethe lovelove ofof Christ,Christ, whichwhich passethpasseth knowledge,knowledge, thatthat yeye mightmight bebefilledfilled withwith allall thethe fulnessfulness ofof God”God” (Ephesians 3:17-19).

You can only give of what you have, and the moreyou have of a thing, the more of it you can give. So, how fullare you of His love? How much can your love give, and howmuch can it endure?

There is far more to your inner life than the food you putin your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the

LLife has much deeper fulfilments than money,material things, and earthly pleasures. Some people

have amassed so much wealth and abundant materialpossessions, yet they aren’t fulfilled. Some think that byacquiring more money and properties, making more friends,having more children or getting more famous, they’ll finallybecome fulfilled, but they’ve realized it’s not so. Truefulfilment is in discovering your divine purpose; God’s will foryou in Christ, and accomplishing it.

Jesus said, “…My“…My meatmeat isis toto dodo thethe willwill ofof himhim thatthat sentsentme,me, andand toto finishfinish hishis work”work” (John 4:34). That should be yourgoal, your joy, your fulfilment and satisfaction. You need torealise that man is a spirit being; therefore, the most importantthings in his life are spiritual. His fulfilment will come from hisspirit as he fulfils God’s purpose. There’s a divine purpose foryour life, which you must discover and achieve, for you to betruly fulfilled in life.

Have you asked yourself, “What does God really wantfor my life?” When you discover His dream for you, be gladabout it, and go for it, and you’ll be fulfilled. Not everybodymay be excited about what God has called them to do, but ifyou’re spiritually minded, you’ll be. Be determined to pleaseHim in all things, and He’ll fill your heart with joy.

As you study the Word, fellowship with the Holy Spiritand function in the church, you’ll discover your specificpurpose in Him, and how exactly He wants you to live. Thatway, life would be more meaningful to you and you’d be able

Many in the Church today are ignorant of this deepspiritual truth. If you’re conscious that the Spirit of God, whois the conveyor of the blessings of God, and of all that’s beengiven to us in Christ Jesus, lives in you, how could you live anordinary life? Even if your body has been so bruised, broken,and ravaged by sickness, disease or infirmity, meditating onthis truth will revitalise your whole being.

Romans 8:10 says, “And“And ifif ChristChrist bebe inin you,you, (though)thethe bodybody isis (be) deaddead becausebecause ofof sin…thesin…the SpiritSpirit isis (gives it)lifelife becausebecause ofof righteousness.”righteousness.” The Spirit of God isn’t docileinside you; He’s active. Actually, He perambulates in you. Notice His choice of words: “I will dwell in them,” thatmeans “settle down in them!” He has set up His headquartersin you, but that’s not all. He also said, “I’ll walk in them.”“Walk” here is the Greek word “emperipateo” and it means topatrol the boundaries of a property in order to fix and replaceany damaged part or notify of any trouble. Part of the ministryof the Holy Spirit in you is to ensure that anything that goeswrong in your body is fixed. If it needs to be renewed, He’ll

TThe thought in our opening verse is such a powerfulblessing. It lets you know that there’s a divine force,

something supernatural and completely beyond you, thatmakes you do the things you do as a Christian. That force orpower is Christ in you.

When you study the life of Jesus in His earth-walk,you’ll see that power at work in Him. He stated a definite truth: It’s God who’s at workin you, both to will and to act according to His good pleasure.

The good things you do don’t just come from yourhead or your mind; they’re God-inspired. If it’s good for Godand pleasing to Him, and good for people, then He’s the Oneworking in you, making you willing and causing you to actaccordingly!

You’ve received the power to be a faithful andeffective witness of the Lord Jesus. He has made you an ableminister of the Gospel (2 Corinthians 3:6). One vital evidencethat the Holy Spirit is active in your life is soul winning;dynamic evangelism! Whenever people received the HolySpirit in the Bible, they preached and taught the Word withboldness, resulting in the conversion of sinners. received Christ into your life, something actually happened;there was a real spiritual birth. You were born of the Word ofGod and the Spirit of God. That’s how come you have the life,nature and character of God in your spirit; it’s a completelynew life.

In the presence of God, everything you were, and didbefore you were born again never existed; there’s no record,because you’re a new creation, a new being. Christians whoare ignorant of this are held in bondage to their past, whichinvariably makes them ineffective in the things of God.

Understand that your spirit has come alive to God, andseeks only to please Him and do His will now that you’re bornagain. You might ask, “How come some people still do thewrong things even after they’ve been born again?” The truthis, those things don’t come from their human spirit, but from

consist of present-hour truths. When you study the Paulinerevelations, Peter’s epistles and some of John’s Spirit-inspiredthoughts, you’d discover truths that are operative in the“now” of our lives.

For example, Paul tells us, “Therefore“Therefore ifif anyany manman bebeinin Christ,Christ, hehe isis aa newnew creature...”creature...” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Thisisn’t history, a prophecy, or a promise. You aren’t going tobecome a new creation when you get to heaven or afteryou’ve prayed hard enough; you’re a new creation NOW! It’sa fact for today.

Another beautiful present-hour fact is 1 Peter 2:9. Itsays, “But“But yeye areare aa chosenchosen generation,generation, aa royalroyal priesthood,priesthood, ananholyholy nation,nation, aa peculiarpeculiar people;people; thatthat yeye shouldshould shewshew forthforth thethepraisespraises ofof himhim whowho hathhath calledcalled youyou outout ofof darknessdarkness intointo hishismarvellousmarvellous light.”light.” You were created to display and manifestthe beauty, glory, excellence, holiness, grace, andrighteousness of God. This is your calling in Christ Jesus.

When you study Revelation 1:6, you find yet anotheroperative truth: “And“And hathhath mademade usus kingskings andand priestspriests untountoGodGod andand hishis Father;Father; toto himhim bebe gloryglory andand dominiondominion foreverforeverandand ever.ever. Amen.”Amen.” This isn’t something to hope for; it’s alreadyhappened. You’re a king-priest, ordained of God to reign inlife; to decree a thing and have it established unto you.

MMany people have unconsciously placed a limit onGod, who He is, and what He’s capable of doing.

Notice what our opening verse says about His illimitablepersonality: from everlasting to everlasting, He’s God. Thatmeans both in the dateless past, and in the dateless future, Heis God. Isn’t that amazing? No wonder the human mind can’teasily grasp things about Him.

They even say,“How can God, who is neither a woman nor a man, have ason?” When you ask such questions, you’re relegating Godto the realms of ordinary human beings, and some biologicalprocesses. Come on! He’s God! Man lives in thethree-dimensional world, and all he knows is limited to thatrealm, but God exists in a far much higher dimension.

In Jeremiah 32:27, He said, “Behold,“Behold, II amam thethe Lord,Lord, thetheGodGod ofof allall flesh:flesh: isis therethere anythinganything tootoo hardhard forfor me?”me?” Whenyou know Him as the self-existent One, you’ll understand howcome He could send His Word through an angel to the VirginMary, and it produced a child—Jesus—without the agency orthe seed of man.

Don’t live your life according to speculations andtheories of men; there’s a higher knowledge. Follow theWord. God isn’t a man, and He’s not restricted by man’s

OObserve the Spirit’s choice of words through Paul,and his beautiful prayer for God’s people in our

opening text. He desires that we be filled with the knowledgeof God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I’ll likeyou to notice the distinctive word “knowledge.” That word isthe Greek “Epignosis,” and it means absolute knowledge, farremoved from speculations and assumptions; it’s exact,precise, definite or full knowledge.

The Spirit’s desire for you isn’t just for you to havean idea or be merely aware of God’s will; He wants youto become fully acquainted with His will. He wants you tocome into the full comprehension of the will of the Father.Moreover, when you know God, you know all things, for He’sthe embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge. So, in Christ,you have insight into reality. You can have full knowledgeabout anything. Can you imagine that?

You might ask, “Why then is this not working for me?”Simple! Hosea 4:6 says, “My“My peoplepeople areare destroyeddestroyed forfor thethelacklack ofof knowledge….”knowledge….” First, you have to know about it, likeyou’re learning now. Romans 10:17 says, “So“So thenthen faithfaithcomethcometh byby hearing,hearing, andand hearinghearing byby thethe wordword ofof God.”God.”Secondly, you have to be conscious of it for it to work. If youdon’t know it, you can’t use it; and if you’re not conscious ofit, it’ll not work.

Thirdly, you have to confess and declare this to bethe reality of your life: you’re filled with the knowledge of

OOne of the beautiful and amazing benefits of havingthe Holy Spirit in your life is that He makes you

creative and innovative. He opens your eyes to see whatothers don’t see, and your ears to hear what others don’thear. He anoints your eyes to see the right things, and yourmind to understand and conceive lofty ideas.

This brings to mind the famous words of Michelangelo,the great artist. He said, “I saw the angel in the marble andcarved until I set him free.” He saw what he could get outof an ordinary piece of marble, which everyone else thoughtwas just a stone with no value. From that same stone, he wentahead to create the famous statue of David.

You’re born of the Master Craftsman, and that makesyou a master craftsman yourself. This means you can seevalue where others don’t. You can have creative andinnovative ideas; you can bring new things into this world.That’s the nature God has given you, because you’re Hisworkmanship, His product. Some Christians would say aboutthemselves, “I never have any ideas; I’m not creative.” That’swrong. Never talk like that.

God created you in His image and in His likeness(Genesis 1:26), which means He made you to look like Him,and to function like Him, and He’s a creator. He can bringsomething out of previously non-existent materials. Goddoesn’t need to look outside of Himself for the materials with

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, andcometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is novariableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).

GGod is good (Psalm 24:1). He’s goodnesspersonified, but not many people see or perceive

Him as such. They think He wants us afraid and apologetic allthe time; so they try to be careful with Him, hoping not tooffend Him. God isn’t that way. He’s not waiting to see youslip or make a mistake so He can sniff from heaven and wipeyou off the face of the earth. He’s loving and kind.

The Lord Jesus unveiled the Father to us as a lovingFather. When He walked the earth, He representedeverything that the Father is. The Jews knew God as the Godof judgment. Then, they heard Jesus call God “Father”; thatwas new, and they understood what it meant. The Bible says,“Then“Then thethe JewsJews tooktook upup stonesstones againagain toto stonestone him”him” (John10:31). They wanted to kill Him for daring to call God HisFather, thus making Himself equal with God.

The Jews weren’t acquainted with the God who lovesthe world so much as to give His only Son to die in their place.They knew Him as a consuming fire; therefore, they couldn’trelate with Him. They couldn’t be persuaded, because theiropinion and perception of Him was wrong.

God is love, and cares so much for you, up to thestrands of hair on your head: “Are“Are notnot twotwo sparrowssparrows soldsoldforfor aa farthing?farthing? andand oneone ofof themthem shallshall notnot fallfall onon thethe groundgroundwithoutwithout youryour Father.Father. SSome Christians get very excited to read 1Corinthians 1:30: “But“But ofof himhim areare yeye inin ChristChrist Jesus,Jesus,

whowho ofof GodGod isis mademade untounto usus wisdom,wisdom, andand righteousness,righteousness, andandsanctification,sanctification, andand redemption.”redemption.” Then, they come acrossJames 1:5: “If“If anyany ofof youyou lacklack wisdom,wisdom, letlet himhim askask ofof God,God, thatthatgivethgiveth toto allall menmen liberally,liberally, andand upbraidethupbraideth not;not; andand itit shallshall bebegivengiven him”him” and get confused. “Should one still ask for wisdomafter Christ has been made unto us wisdom?” they wonder.Now, those two verses aren’t contradictory at all; it’s aboutlevels of maturity in Christ.

The Scriptures are given to us to guide and lead us,and as you study, you’ll find that there’re different kinds ofinstructions for different groups of Christians on the basis oftheir maturity. Some are addressed to the babes in Christ;others, to the maturing in Christ, and then, there’reinstructions for the “fathers” or the spiritually mature in Christ.

The one who’s still a babe in Christ may quote andconfess that Christ has been made unto him wisdom, buthe hasn’t really caught it. His words and actions may stillbe incongruous with the Word, and the wisdom of God. Heisn’t yet manifesting wisdom, which is a fruit of righteousness.He still acts and thinks like the rest of the world, like thosewithout wisdom. So, James says to such a fellow, “Ask thatwisdom becomes a reality in your life.”

Remember, it’s children, the babes in Christ, that askfor things. Jesus said, “Ask and it shall be given unto you”;He related it with children asking their father for bread (Luke11:9-12). The spiritually mature doesn’t ask for anything,because he lacks nothing in Christ. This has become his livingconsciousness. This is the level God wants you to grow into,where you know that all things are yours; you’re not askingfor wisdom, but walking in wisdom.
