Our Easter celebration continues today and for six more weeks. The 50 days of Easter is a time for the Christian community to savor the paschal
mystery through sharing in the Eucharist, mediating on the Scriptures, and sharing in works of charity.
Today is also the Sunday of Divine Mercy. St. Pope John Paul II, in his encyclical letter Dives in Misericordia (Rich in Mercy, 1981), made two
important statements about God’s Mercy.
First, he wrote, “Mercy is an indispensable dimension of love; it is as it were love’s second name”. (DM, n.15) Thus, the Second name of God after
Love is Mercy.
Secondly, he taught that mercy is ‘the greatest attribute of God.’ The Saintly Holy Father Pope John Paul II wrote in "Dives in Misericordia" (no. 13):
"the Bible, Tradition, and the whole faith life of the People of God provide unique proof... that mercy is the greatest of the attributes and perfections of
God."
So, what are we called to do ‘concretely this Mercy Sunday? Beside we proclaim the truth of God’s mercy revealed in the crucified and risen Christ, and
practice mercy, random acts of kindness, we can take part in Wheel Chairs for Veterans of America.
Today we welcome Mr. Chris Lewis who will tell us about the importance of the American Wheel Chair Mission. The Knights of Columbus of St.
Thomas More, Council 3910, will sponsor a Breakfast Sunday with all proceeds benefiting the wheel chair project. Make plan to join your fellow
parishioners this Mercy Sunday- April 3. Enjoy great food, time with friends and support the wheel chair project for our veterans.

Nuestra celebración de la Pascua continúa hoy y durara seis semanas más. Los 50 días de Pascua es un tiempo para la comunidad cristiana de celebrar el
misterio pascual a través de la participación eucarística, meditar en las Escrituras, y la participación en obras de caridad.
Hoy es también el domingo de la Divina Misericordia. San Juan Pablo II, en su encíclica Dives in Misericordia (Rico en Misericordia, 1981), hizo dos
declaraciones importantes sobre la Misericordia de Dios.

misericordia de Dios revelado en Cristo crucificado y resucitado, y de poner en práctica la misericordia en actos de bondad, podemos tomar parte en el
proyecto llamado Sillas de ruedas para los veteranos de América.
Hoy damos la bienvenida al Sr. Chris Lewis, que nos hablará acerca de la importancia de la Misión Americana para sillas de ruedas. Los Caballeros de
Colón de Santo Tomás Moro, Consejo 3910, patrocinará un desayuno el domingo y todos los ingresos con los que se beneficie este evento serán
entregados al proyecto Silla de ruedas. Les motivo a que hagan sus planes para unirse a sus hermanos feligreses este domingo de la Misericordia 3 de
Abril y disfruten de buena comida, de un buen tiempo con la familia y apoyemos el proyecto de silla de ruedas para nuestros veteranos.

Quinceañera o Bendicion: Preparación para una
Quinceañera es una celebración alegre de una mujer joven
— una "quinceañera", llegando a la edad de 15 años.
Requisitos:
Para celebrar una Quinceañera en Santo Tomas Moro los
siguientes requisitos deben cumplirse: la quinceañera y su
familia deben ser registrados feligreses de Santo Tomas ;
• La quinceañera debe haber recibido los sacramentos de
iniciación (bautismo, confirmación y Eucaristía) o estar
registrada en y asistir a clases de CCE en Santo Tomas
durante al menos dos años, la quinceañera debe participar
activamente en la parroquia, asistiendo regularmente a Misa
los domingos;
• La quinceañera debe asistir a las clases de preparación en el
Santo Tomas (sostenidas generalmente en Enero)

Requirements:
In order to celebrate a Quinceañera at St. Thomas More, the
following requirements must be met:
• The quinceañera and her family must be registered
parishioners of St. Thomas More Church;
• The quinceañera must have received the sacraments of
initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) or be
registered in and attending CCE classes at St. Thomas for at
least two years, the quinceañera must actively participate in
the parish, regularly attending Sunday Mass;
• The quinceañera must attend the preparation classes at St.
Thomas More Church (usually held in January)

Liturgy Notes: During this past year, Daniel Cardinal di Nardo
requested from the composers of the Arch- Diocese to write a hymn
for the Year of Mercy for our Arch-Diocese.
The winning hymn has been announced. “Prayer of Compassion” by
Howard Maple. The hymn has been made available to the parishes in
the Arch-Diocese. We are encouraged to sing this hymn on April 3,
Divine Mercy Sunday.
There are cards in the pews with words and music. We will sing this
hymn periodically throughout the Year of Mercy.
