Greene Street's 40th Christmas Market is history. Another successful
event was held on October 11. The 2012 Market was under the
direction of the Administrative Board. Members of the Administrative
Board— Adele Penrod, Donna DeBrosse and Brett Marrs—formed a
leadership team to assure each area of the market was covered.
Proceeds for 2012 are estimated to be about $6,400.00 The
division of proceeds will be discussed and approved at the next Ad
Board meeting.
Greene Street Market signs were distributed. Please return
your sign to Greene Street for use again next year.
Special thanks is extended to all who stepped forward
and provided leadership in specific areas. There was great
fellowship, great food and lots of smiles. Watch for information
about next year!!! Want to help plan—call Adele or Donna for more
information.
Pans of hamloaf are still available—
$8.00 / pan of 4 !!

New Website Unveiled
At the reading of this article, Greene Street’s new website, www.greenestreetumc.org , has officially
launched! This project consumed many hours of hard work by dedicated staff and volunteers who provided
content, pictures, finances, and editorial suggestions to pull it off. We are pleased to offer this resource
to you, and are excited about how this tool will help us live out our mission to make disciples for the trans-
formation of the world!
A church website often provides a visitor’s first impression, and we hope we have captured the spirit and
essence of Greene Street. We hope that as you invite others to join us in worship, you will provide this
website address to neighbors, friends and coworkers. This could be a helpful, nonthreatening tool to reach
others and draw them to Christ.
The launch of this website is a way to welcome those who don’t know us or the God we serve. The website
will serve as a way in which we practice radical hospitality to our neighbors, surrounding communities, and
the world. We pray that those who find our website would be compelled by the Spirit of God and drawn to
Him. Let us be prepared to extend a hearty welcome to any and all who would dare to join us some Sun-
day after being intrigued by what they have experienced on our website.
Not only will this website assist us as we reach out into the community, but it will also serve as a conven-
ient place to find information about what’s going on in the life of the church. A calendar will help us re-
member dates, times and locations of everything from special events to regular meetings. There is a page
with links to recent The Chimes newsletter publications. There is a link where audio/video recordings are
available to view past worship services. There is an extensive section with links dedicated to our daycare
and preschool. We have made it as convenient as ever to keep current with Greene Street, whether you’re
in Piqua or halfway around the world.
We will continue honing this resource and taking your suggestions in order to maximize its effectiveness.
Feel free to surf around and tell us what’s missing, what can be done better, and what we may want to
leave out. Thanks for helping us in the process.
Indeed, I am thankful God allows us to join Him in the great work He is doing to transform the world. We
all have a vital role to play in this great, amazing story God continues writing with our lives. So let’s join
together in bringing God glory in everything we do, for as 1 Peter 4:11 says: “If anyone speaks, he should
do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God pro-
vides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power
forever and ever. Amen!‖
With Great Thanksgiving,
Kenneth A. Stewart, Pastor

The Worship Committee cordially invites church members to the annual Hanging of the Greens. Within an hour the many willing hands decorate the
sanctuary, narthex, and entryways. It is amazing to see the transformation. Bring the whole family; children will have fun activities with Mrs. Jenny (Sweetman). To celebrate the beginning of the Advent
Season, ALL church members are invited to join in the chili supper beginning at 5:15 p.m. Chili and fixings and beverages will be provided by the Worship
Committee. Please join us.

King David, a man after God's own heart, wrote "Let them praise His name with dancing. Let them make music to Him with harps and tambourines." Psalms 149:3.
My prayer for this church is that God would use our gifts to bring us closer to Him. Worship should be about praising and glorifying God with humble hearts, not pleasing each other or ourselves. I can't wait to see all the exciting things God has planned for His church! We are so privileged to be in the presence of God and to experience the joy of our Lord with every breath He gives us!

Ye Olde Kitchen Shoppe
The Food and Hunger Issues Committee wishes to
thank those who donated gently used items, who
bought from the Shoppe, and who worked during the
Christmas Market. The following people helped to
make this a success: Diane Collette, Bea Jones, Dea
Davis, Colleen Fry, Peg Luby, Kay Hardman, Dottie
Goater, Shirley Sanders, Terry Fry, and Joan Beck.
Food for Thought
The Food Pantry continues to need your donations of
food and cash. The number of families who came to
the pantry during the month of August was 241. In
September there were 215 persons. Everyone may
have 10 items and so this means over 2,000 items per
month. We appreciate whatever you can share with
the Food Pantry.

Greene St. U. M. C.,
Thank you so much for the loaf of pumpkin bread I received when I visited Sept. 2, 2012. The bread was so tasty; my complements to the bakers. I got to meet the new pastor and family; it was a meaningful service. I pray your congregation keeps growing. Blessings to all!
Sincerely,
Nancy Dunnick, (Donna DeBrosse’s Mom)
