(Continued from page 3) effort in a club that everyone benefits from.
I do a list like the big one on page 2 of all conventions in Toronto
and areas to the northeast and southwest along Lakes Ontario and
Erie, plus some US cities on the southern shores. Lists like this
one are an excellent reference in which to play your year of
fannish convention fun.
I heartily agree with Lev Grossman's The Magicians' Land being
on the list of 2014's Best Books by Charlie Jane Anders and io9.
Unfortunately for me, that book is the only one on the list I've
read, so I am a little biased.
I think we will be seeing some of those books on some award
ballots
We're still in the cold here, but soon, things should thaw, and we
can get to some conventions here. Our little steampunk business
will have tables at two conventions between now and the end of
April, so we should have the opportunity to make some money,
and there's also a great Steampunk gala we will going to in the
London, Ontario area.
Done for now...hope everyone is having a great winter, and is too
busy being at a convention to see this today...take care, and see
you the next time.
Yours, Lloyd Penney.
