DESCRIPTION
Introductory workshop to show the workflow for creating a Finite Element model in Patran, submitting that model to MD Nastran for a linear static analysis, then post-processing the results.The overall model description is provided, followed by itemized steps to complete the example. Animations show model creation steps in the Patran Graphical User Interface. This file must be downloaded to view the animations. You also must have Adobe Reader 9 or higher, or Adobe Acrobat.

Problem Description A landing gear strut has been designed for a new fighter jet.
Determine if the landing gear strut has been designed properly to withstand the landing load.
E = 30 x 106 psi =0.3 Landing Load = 7,080 lb
