PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Polyguard Products • Ennis, Texas • February 2016 - Present Water Proofing MaterialsSafety Supervisor

▪ Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of our three locations to evaluate our practices and procedures. This enables me to recommend changes to our safety program which will reduce risks to our employees while at the same time, adhere to the law.

▪ Conduct health and safety training by using modern presentation and video software tailored to a wide variety of audiences. This training is scheduled company-wide at least once a month and whenever there is a change in personnel, procedures or equipment.

▪ Often work with engineers and maintenance team members in the design, installation and maintenance of machines and equipment to eliminate unsafe conditions from the start.

▪ Investigate incidents, injuries and near-misses to discover root-causes. I do not conduct “fault-finding” investigations with the purpose of blaming the employee. However, it is important to me to find out how the incident can be prevented from happening in the future. This is done by engineering the hazard out of the process if possible, training or disciplining the employee when appropriate and the introduction of better protective equipment.

▪ Work with claims adjusters and brokers to monitor compliance to policies and Workers’ Compensation laws. Revised our post-accident drug-testing policy to set clear parameters and to comply with new OSHA Post-Accident Test ruling.

▪ Monitors employee work habits to gauge safety program effectiveness. Regularly provide reports to upper management on health and safety issues, recommends opportunities for improvement and new preventive measures.

▪ Makes sure that everyone in our company complies with health and safety laws and written company policies. I am also responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

▪ Established company’s first Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team. Conducted Rules of Order, accident investigation techniques, First-aid/CPR/AED, Blood-borne Pathogen safety and many other relevant safety trainings to these team members.
