What Is Piezeo Electric Effect ?
Pavegen tile is a device that is working on a principle of ‘Piezo Electric Effect”.
Materials which generate an electric potential in response to mechanical stress are considered to be piezoelectric materials.
This Effect is Called “Piezoelectric Effect”.Such materials will also change shape when an electric field is applied to them.

The piezoelectric effect was discovered and studied in the late 19th century by Pierre Curie and his brother .
And has been observed in a wide range of materials such as quartz (SiO2), Rochelle Salt (Potassium sodium tartrate, NaKC4H4O6), barium titanate (BiTiO3) and lithium niobate (LiNbO3).

Force experted by footstep on rubber surface causes Pavegen floor tile to flex 5 mm;Kinetic energy created is captured and stored within a lithium polymer battery
Stored electricity can either go directly into use for providing power/ lighting, or can be stored for up to three days

POWER IS GENERATED WHEN A FOOTFALL COMPRESSES THE SLAB BY APPROXIMATELY 5 MM (0.2 IN), CAPTURED KINETIC ENERGY WHICH IS CONVERTED INTO 0.294 WATT-HOURS OF ELECTRICITY AND DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT SURROUNDING LIGHTS.
ACCORDING TO PAVEGEN, EACH STEP PRODUCES ENOUGH POWER TO LIGHT AN LED-POWERED STREET LAMP FOR 30 SECONDS.

Energy per footstep = 73.6KWh / 250000 foot steps = 0.294Wh per footstep on average
Everyday 22 million passengers travel in local/suburban trains In India .So if we can able to collect two foot steps from each of them , we can generate
22*2*10,00,000*0.294=12936000 =12936KWh Power Everyday.
Pavegen tiles can sustain up to 20 years .so each of them in their lifetime would generate =>77616000KWh energy .If we can extend it to the other transport facilities , we can harvest as much energy as possible.

We can reduce approximately 6.817 tons of excessive CO2 every day , emissions into atmosphere, by using Pavegen technology .
If we implement this technology, we can supply the power to Grids.

Made of marine grade Stainless steel.
The total estimated carbon footprint of rubber to be used in the Pavegen system is about 0.0857 kg of CO2.
The top surface is built entirely of recycled material, but also make the tiles incredibly durable throughout years of weather and wear.
The Pavegen tiles themselves are completely eco-friendly.
