Pinellas County Animal Services

Greetings from the staff and volunteers at Pinellas County Animal Services. We have had a very produc-

tive winter here at the shelter. We utilized Presidents’ Day to work with staff and 30 volunteers to super-

clean and disinfect our entire facility while our population is low to prepare for the spring influx. We are

also very excited to have our new Cat Adoption Room under construction. The room will be larger, have

natural light, new cat condos, and a small free roaming cat area. All our cat enthusiasts are excited about

this positive change for our adoption cats.

I would also like to ask you to assist us with citizen education regarding coyotes. It is important for all

domestic cats to be kept indoors and please do not use retractable leashes when walking your small dogs

at dawn or dusk. This is the time when they are most vulnerable to coyotes. Also, coyote pup season is

almost upon us and the adults will be more diligent during this time.

Thank you for your support and your assistance.
