Please keep the Radio ECU’s seal intact. If it is damaged,it shall be

deemed to have been disassembled.It will lose the qualification of the

warranty.

Part of buttons are the reserved buttons such as:

CW1,CW2,CW3,CW4,CWer.Subsequent software updates will be supported.

The display screen of Radio ECU has a transparent protective film. You can tear it off

which can make you have the best visual effect.

The recording keystrokes is REC. Press once to start recording and again to end

recording.

The play button is PLAY. Press once to start playing and again to end playing. Play the

last one is P-LAST. Play the next one is P-NEXT.

The reason why we named it because the display interface is pretty gorgeous much

appearance. The “Peafowls - Radio ECU” is given by BA6QH(QI GONG)

What’s more, because of the powerful build-in function.BI4LHZ named it

“ECU”(Electronic Control Unit)

When Radio ECU connect to your HF transceiver, it can not only show the HF

transceiver’s frequency and mode etc, but also has useful build-in function. With

continuous software upgrades, it will supports more HF transceivers. Welcome join

2: Use and setup

2.1 Connect your HF transceiver

Yaesu FT817/818

a: Use RJ45 plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect

Radio ECU. Use 8DIN plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect

FT817/818 ACC.(The following picture’s port 5 ,the blue arrows )

b: If you need to use the Radio ECU ‘s recording and voice Automatic CQ

function, please connect Radio ECU with FT817/818’s DATA port(which is the

port 4 in the picture) by Yaesu DATA Cable. Meanwhile, set UHF to PKT mode

and set HF to DIG mode.

c: The 14th item in the FT817’s setup menu is about Baud rate of

communication. It’s 4800 at first. You ought to change it into 9600.

Yaesu FT857

a: Use RJ45 plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect Radio

ECU. Use 8DIN plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect FT857

ACC.(The following picture’s port 2 ,the blue arrows )

b：If you need to use the Radio ECU ‘s recording and voice Automatic CQ

function, please connect Radio ECU with FT857’s DATA port(which is the port 3 in the

picture) by Yaesu DATA Cable.

Yaesu FT897

a: Use RJ45 plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect Radio

ECU. Use 8DIN plug (Yaesu FT817/857/897/818 ACC Cable ) to connect FT897

Icom IC7000

a: Use RJ45 plug ( Icom CI-V Remote Cable) to connect Radio ECU. Use

3.5mm plug to connect IC7000’s CI-V port.(The following picture’s port 5 ,the blue

arrows )

2.2 Recording function

To use the recording function, you need to connect the Yaesu DATA Cable or

Icom IC7000/703/706/756/718/78 ACC Cable

2.3 Automatic CQ function

CQ1 is used to start Automatic CQ function. Start a CQ 50 times and then

stop.CQ2, CQ3, CQ4 are used to start one CQ at a time. When you are recording

CQ1,CQ2,CQ3,CQ4,please keep your mouth close to the RJ45 port. MIC is on the inside

of RJ45 port.

2.4 The function of USB flash disk

USB connect to PC is USB Flash Disk function . It can copy the recording files

for editing and saving

The recording files of CQ1,CQ2,CQ3,CQ4 are saved in VOICE folder . Radio

recording files are saved in QSOER folder.

After connecting PC to Radio ECU by Radio ECU USB flash disk Cable, you

may need to wait a moment(According to the different kinds of PC, latency time will be

from a few seconds to a minute or so).Radio ECU’s USB drive will display in the “My

computer”. When you are using this function, Radio ECU’ screen won’t display anything.

2.5 Set the type of HF transceiver

3: The software to upgrade Radio ECU

Radio ECU uses multiple encryption technology.Each Radio ECU uses

different kinds of software.If you program the else software,your Radio ECU will

not work.

3.1 How to get the latest software.

3.2 Upgrade software

a: Power Radio ECU off(The red button on the back)

b: Connect Upgrade Cable to PC(You had better use notebook).And then

connect RJ45 plug(Upgrade Cable) to Radio ECU

c: Run the upgraded software. And then click START

d: Power Radio ECU on(The red button on the back)

e: Please wait for the upgrade bar to complete. If it work that means success. If

upgrade isn’t successful, please power Radio ECU off and repeat c，d，e. Please do not

power off your PC during the upgrade process. Do not unplug Upgrade Cable, either.
