ITC is a HSE approved provider and a leader in the delivery of high quality first aid courses. The focus of our courses is a practical approach to training – there’s no long hours staring at a Powerpoint to worry about! As well as being HSE approved our Outdoor First Aid courses are also QCF accredited at Level 2. Our two-day (16 hour) course is ideal for outdoor instructors, Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders and participants, teachers and outdoor enthusiasts. They are also suitable if you need an outdoor first aid qualification to revalidate your NGB award (eg MIC, MIA, Mountain Leader, SPA, WGL, Mountain Bike Leader, Local Cave and Mine Leader etc). Hope is a quaint village in the heart of the Peak District National Park Within a short walk from our venue there’s also a great selection of cafes, pubs and shops. Our courses are non-residential but we have several tried and tested B&B’s, hotels, bunkhouses and campsites nearby (we’ll be more than happy to help with your booking arrangements). We also happen to be perfectly situated for a range of outdoor activities if you want to wind down after a days training or tag an extra day onto your visit. Mountain bikers can head out on some of the countries best trails straight from the door. For climbers there are some of the best Peak District crags only 5-10 minutes away (Stanage, Burbage or Froggatt to name a few) and for cavers there’s classics like P8, Giant’s Hole or the delights of the Stoney Middleton caves only minutes away. Of course there are also loads of beautiful walks just down the road. An evening stroll onto Mamtor or a walk through the beautiful Burbage Valley to name a couple. Alternatively, there’s loads of other great villages such as Castleton, Hathersage or Bamford only a few minutes away. Stay on and visit Castleton’s famous caves (we are based in Castleton so we can give you great local advice), sample the shopping delights of Hathersage’s mega Outside shop or head through Bamford to visit the famous Derwent Dams. We really couldn’t be better placed for your course. Successful participants will receive a first aid certificate (valid for 3 years) along with a comprehensive first aid manual. Cal is an active climber, mountain biker, qualified climbing instructor and Peak District resident. All our instructors are local, active and experienced with strong backgrounds in remote care environments and expedition medicine. They are the face of our business and we know how important a good instructor is to giving you the best possible learning opportunity.
