Wraparound, tuition-free program for families led by parents with cognitive challenges:
• Preschool for at-risk children, using specialized curriculum and Program-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to provide children with language/ literacy, and social/emotional development needed for kindergarten readiness. Our enriched learning environment

Served 304 Adults and Children from 87 Families
Assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to locate and retain quality jobs in the community. We provide Job Discoverytodeterminetherightfitfor available jobs, Job Development for those ready to work, and Supported Employment so they can remain successful in their current job.
Served 112 Participants
Community Services Program
Assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in their homes, while remaining safe. This can include, but is not limited to, household cleaning and maintenance, scheduling appointments, meal planning and prep, grocery shopping and money management.

Adult Services Program
Served 152 Participants 152 adults worked at Pearl Buck Production Services34 adults participated in a combination of programs: 2 in vocational services and Community Employment 32 in LEAP and vocational services
Assists people with varying abilities to enter the workforce by building the technical and social skills needed for community employment, while earning paychecks in our skill development center or in community employment.
Working for A Better Life Program
Pearl Buck Center provides comprehensive employment,leisure and supported living programs for adults
with varying levels of intellectual ability.
Life Enhancing Activities Program (LEAP)
Served 59 Participants
59 adults participated in activities and outings 32 participated in vocational services and LEAP
Increases opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to be active participants in the community through art, community integration and social enrichment.

the Pearl Buck Vocational Academy. On July 1, Tim Keeley passed the Board presidency to Erik Hasselman, who is already providing positive leadership. Jan’s life will change in February 2017, when she retires, after 22 years with this great organization. These and other changes will reconfigure our internal landscape.
Throughout our history, we have fulfilled our mission in the face of change, and it will be no different going forward. As always, navigating change will take our combined efforts and talents. As always, our unity of purpose will ensure Pearl Buck Center’s continuity and strength.
Most of us can think of ways in which the world has changed during our lifetime. Change may bring advances we embrace, or setbacks we shrink from. Both require choosing a course of action, even if that means giving up.
For Pearl Buck Center, change--and adapting to change--is an accepted way of life. Since its birth in 1953, this organization has lived through significant local, national, and global evolutions in economy, politics, technology, and social perspectives. We have never given up.
Flexibility is important; however, Pearl Buck Center does more than just “go with the flow” of change. Our core values and clear sense of purpose guide and inspire us to keep growing and responding to community needs. One recent example is the wonderful Project Search internship program we have launched in collaboration with Peace Health Riverbend.When the challenge of closing sheltered workshops emerged, we began designing
