‘Remember Pearl Harbor!’ The WWII slogan that once mobilized the entire nation has endured into the 21st century on O‘ahu. Every year 1.5 million tourists visit Pearl Harbor’s unique collection of war memorials and museums, all clustered around a quiet bay where oysters were once farmed, just west of urban Honolulu. Today, Pearl Harbor is the site of a gigantic US naval base.
