HOËRSKOOL PEARSON HIGH SCHOOL

ISSUE/UITGAWE: 12 2015

We ended a busy and successful winter season on Saturday, 22 August

2015. Unfortunately, some of the matches were cancelled owing to rain.

Thank you to our parents for the support during the busy winter

season. The reality is that at Pearson there is no real break and we go

straight from a busy winter season to a busy summer season.

In the coming summer season, our water polo teams will often be travelling to various

tournaments. It is at these tournaments that top polo is played and at which teams gain

invaluable experience. These are brilliant opportunities for our water polo players to

develop their skills. We will also be hosting the Pearson High School Pam Golding Cricket

Festival with 14 teams participating from 10—12 September.

We say goodbye to the following staff members: Ms Campbell who joined Pearson in

2014 in the Maths and Science department. She has chosen to accept a post at STEM at

the NMMU Missionvale Campus. Ons sê ook vaarwel aan mnr. Langenhoven in die IT-

departement wat ’n promosiepos by die Hoërskool Andrew Rabie aanvaar het. Ons wens

altwee voorspoed toe vir die toekoms.

* Alisa Louw, Youth Category finalist in the Citizen of the Year Competition. The Pearson family

can support her by SMS-ing: 07 to 41893.

* Lauren Botha & Danielle Buys who participated in the South African National Fitness & Hip Hop

Championships in Cape Town in the Category Hip Hop Unite Crew (12—17 years).

* Lauren Botha, Danielle Buys, Savannah Pretorius & Kyra Meistre who were awarded their

Eastern Cape Colours for Hip Hop at the Provincial Trials held in Port Elizabeth. All four

represented their province proudly at the Nationals in Cape Town in June and were placed 10th &

11th in South Africa in their respective dance crews and age categories.

* Kayla Auld who received the following Modern Dance Awards at the Dance Festival at the Savoy

Theatre: Solo (Gold), Tap Solo (Silver).

* Cara Seitz & Teagan Minder who were selected for the Eastern Cape Schools team for SANESA

Nationals in October (Equestrian)

* Kaylene Corbett who was selected to represent South Africa in Swimming in Samoa at the

Commonwealth Youth Games in August/September.

* Carlyle Bromfield is na afloop van Hoërskool Pearson se Netbalkliniek te Hoërskool Punt,

Mosselbaai, in die Arthur Johnson-uitnodigingspan ingesluit. Sy is uitgenooi om aan die 2015

Arthur Johnson-toernooi deel te neem en is lid van twee spanne van

18 dogters wat hulle kragte sal kan meet teen die beste o/19

netbalspanne in Hong Kong.

* Mieke Nel, Doré van Eyk, Eileen van der Westhuizen & Shené

Roux wat 2de gekom het in die ATKV/Burger Vlymnskerp Kompetisie.

* Hannah Werth who will be part of the South African Water Polo

The netball girls had a great season. The A-team was unbeaten at home and lost only

to Framesby and Despatch.
