Penicillin is also known in short as pen or PCN.

When was it discovered? How was it discovered?

Penicillin was discovered in 1929, by Sir Alexander Flemming. It was accidently discovered in a lab. It was discovered after Flemming left a dish of staphylococcus bacteria uncovered for days. When he returned to the dish it was dotted with bacterial growth apart from one area where a patch of mound (penicillin notatum) was growing. The mound produced a substance called penicillin. Penicillin inhibited bacterial growth and it was later found to be effective against a wide range of harmful bacteria

Risks

There isn’t really many risks of Penicillin. A type of Penicillin, Penicillin V effects birth control pill. It makes it less effective.

Some symptoms of allergic reactions are.. - rashes - Difficulty breathing - hives - Loss of consciousness - itching skin - Swollen lips, lounge or face - wheezing - Drop in blood pressure - dizziness - Rapid or weak pulse

Benefits

Some benefits of Penicillin are that it attacks infections, especially bacterial infections. It fights off the bacteria in your body. It treats many different infections, such as ear infection, tonsillitis and many more.

Alternate Solutions

There is no other solution. Penicillin was one of the first antibiotics to be created. Its recognized to be the safest of all antibiotics. It’s used in all countries.
