Definisi Teknik Industri Disiplin ilmu yang mempelajari tentang desain (perancangan), pengembangan (improvement) dan instalasi dari sistim terintegrasi yang meliputi manusia, peralatan/fasilitas produksi, material, energi dan informasi. Keilmuan Teknik Industri membutuhkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan dalam bidang matematika, fisika dan Ilmu Sosial yang dipadukan dengan prinsip dan metode dalam analisa teknis dan perancangan sehingga dapat mendefinisikan, memprediksi, dan mengevaluasi serta memperbaiki suatu sistem.
