Built in 1971, Pinecrest Manor is a 138-bed skilled nursing facility providing long-term, short-term and respite care to individuals from St. Marys and the surrounding communities.

Over the years, Pinecrest Manor has had but a few upgrades. In 2017, the main entrance and lobby area of this facility underwent an extensive renovation and modernization. A new drive-under canopy also was added to facilitate the drop off and pick up of residents and family members at the facility.

In phase II of the Pinecrest Manor renovations, all of the resident rooms/bathrooms, bathing facilities, hallways, solarium and nurses stations will be updated. New furnishings, window treatments and accents will also be purchased.

The goal is to modernize the facility with finishes and elements to make the residents feel at ease. It will have an aesthetic that one would see in a residential house and not in a hospital. Having their own space helps patients retain their autonomy, dignity and health longer.

• Phase I will occur over three years• Recruiting efforts are underway to support these building efforts

Penn Highlands Healthcare embarked upon Phase I of its Master Facility Plan that will modernize, improve and expand upon the exceptional services we offer our patients at our hospital campuses and outpatient facilities in the 13-county region we service.

To support these building efforts, we will recruit an additional 100 providers (physicians and advanced practice providers) and over 300 new professional staff members in the nursing and support services fields.
