PENNANT HILLS PARK
CONCEPT PLANMAY 2021SHEET 1 OF 4
PEDESTRIAN PATH MASTERPLAN
Council is planning to enhance the pathway connectivity at Pennant Hills Park. Potential pathway connections at various locations within the park have been identifi ed.
The works are envisioned to be undertaken in 2021, 2022 and in future years, based on funding availability.
The proposed pathways will provide:
• A network of safe pedestrian pathways connecting sports facilities, parking, and buildings.
• A section of existing informal parking along the road is proposed to be upgraded to paved parallel parking.
• The provision of safe pathways will result in loss of approximately eight parking spaces along the southern side of the road near the tennis courts. The improved path connections from other existing car parking areas will enable better connectivity to the tennis and netball facilities.
• Existing mature trees are proposed to be retained as part of these works.
• The paths will provide separation between pedestrians and vehicles.
• Traffi c calming measures such as additional speed humps and traffi c signs will be introduced.

Netball/Tennis Pathway Works For 2021/2022
The proposal includes connecting paths with netball and tennis facilities. The proposal will be implemented in two stages;
STAGE 1The fi rst stage in 2021 involves the construction of new pathways near the existing carpark at the netball and tennis courts. This pathway is proposed to be extended along the existing path from Pennant Hills Oval 3 (Synthetic Field) to the netball courts.
The proposal also includes reinstalling the speed hump that was previously removed near Oval 3 and proposing an additional speed hump at the entrance road to Oval 3. Two speed limit signs are proposed as part of traffi c calming measures.
A second pathway is proposed at the southern side of tennis court overfl ow parking to the existing pathway network.
STAGE 2The second stage involves works in 2022 along the north-eastern side of the road connecting the netball and tennis carparks. The proposal involves upgrading the existing section of unpaved parallel parking to paved parking and a separate pedestrian path.
Approximately eight parallel car parking spaces will be removed to ensure safer pedestrian movement is achieved.

Traffi c calming measures such as speed humps and speed limit signs are proposed to be implemented in 2021.
Two additional speed humps are proposed, one near the Oval 3 entrance road and the second one at the Oval 3 south-west side (the second hump previously existed but was not reinstated after the previous road improvements).
Only one speed limit information sign is present in the park. Two more speed limit signs are proposed to make the park users aware of the traffi c speed regulations.
These additional traffi c calming measures will improve the pedestrian safety.
