Many years ago one of the news shows (48 hours, or something similar), prior to 2001, if Irecall, that did a include a

militia-type training camp in the area.

Not sure if this would be related or not, if the piece was correct, or if the place ever/still exists.

Colleagues,

Forwarded FYI and situational awareness.

Recently the Governor's Office received correspondence from a citizen indicating a concern over apotential training camp in/around Sherman, PA (Wayne County). Before providing the response, wequeried all pertinent law enf9rcement agencies (e .g., PSP, Philly PD, Pittsburgh, FBI, Attorney General, etc.) potentially having such information. We received no Initial indications of such a facility.. . .

We provided the usual response to such a query indicating our appreciation for the Terrorism Tip andwould check into it .

Attached Is the response from the Institute for Terrorism Research and Response (ITRR) with whom wework; this arrived today. .

Senator Ferlo asked what citizenship Perelman holds. Perelman confirmed he is an American citizen. Senator Ferlopointed out the contract with ITRR is not being terminated but rather is simply being allowed to run its course and will notbe extended. He asked how many employees ITRR has. Perelman stated there are around 15 traditional staff members, with more than 70 others around the world.

Senator Ferlo roundly criticized ITRR , again calling it a "scam." He questioned Perelman why his Green Drinks eventwould have been classified as a "Iow-to-moderate" threat. Perelman said if there is concern about a conflict between twogroups, it is a public safety issue.

Chairman Baker concluded the hearing, noting the testimony presented "clearly raises a number of questions," and statedthe committee will continue to look at the issue.

Written testimony was submitted by the following:

• David Kairys and Mary Catherine Roper , ACLU

• Scott Portzline, Security Consultant to Three Mile Island Alert- 30 -
