Requires removal of switches from the assemblies Follows Universal Waste Regulations

Responsibilities of PADEP

Provide incentive – approximately $2.00 per switch based on weight

Provide safety equipment; spill kit, containment, gloves

Provide storage/shipping supplies; universal waste labels, plastic storage/shipping containers, shipping boxes

Program kicked off in March 2005 with first educational workshop

33 Recyclers registered 1 Shipment received

410 Switches$820 incentive payment
