Don’t assume that that a professional planner is just an added expense in an already tight budget. A good planner will consider a project and deter-mine a plan-of-action that is customized to each client. “Instead of having a generic package with elements that the client may or may not use, I first

have them fill out a questionnaire that allows me to truly focus on what they need,” says Ameerah Saine of Avie Prince Events. “That way we can cre-ate a package that is specific to each event.” An a la carte system of planning is the best way for clients to get the most value out of their budget. Once a planner is involved, the quality of the end product goes up exponentially. When a cli-ent is on their own, they have a limited number of resources and are stuck cold calling vendors for quotes and an inventory of their services. An ex-perienced planner has a preferred list of vendors so that clients can get the best rate on everything
