PERMANENT RELEASE COATING FOR OPEN MOULDS

MAINTENANCE-FREE PROCESSING OVER WEEKS

Nanocomp MI is applied thinly on the metal

substrate. With the heat energy of the flowing

melt, the coat sinters to a robust, elastic and

inert ceramic.

Nanocomp MI provides protection and release

effect for highly extended service time - for se-

veral thousand castings. A coat refresh is pos-

sible and easy to handle.

Consumption is low and service time high. Coat

built-up in a mould is avoided for a moulds life.

No mould cleaning intervention anymore.

That leads to a non decreasing heat transfer,

keeping the ICM speed stable.

Coatings for Casting and Melt Handling

Nano-Ceramic Coating for Light Metal Ingot Casting

Nanocomp MI coatings are designed to be

used on metal substrates. Some few kgs of Na-

nocomp MI replace tons of traditional release

agents like graphite, boron nitride or canola oil.

Nanocomp MI grants excellent heat transfer and

in that way a improved ICM efficiency. No need

to lower the ICM speed due to increating coat

layers.

Nanocomp MI10 is designed for Ingot

conveyors with steel moulds with exceeded

mould temperatures and water cooling from top.

MI10 is used for aluminium and magnesium

melts.

Nanocomp MI18 is designed for iron open

moulds (sows, piglets, ingots). MI18 is applied

with slightly higher thickness and provides

excellent release properties. Nanocomp MI18 is

recommended for melts of aluminium, aluminium

alloy, pure zinc (5N), zinc alloy, lead and others.
