P I 1 Missile Sections

o Guidance and ControllAdapter Section I G & C / A ) - The G&C/A section i s a two piece assembly that consists of the guidance and control section and an adapter section t o interface with either f i r s t or second stage, depending on the mi ssi 1 e configuration.

o Radar Section (RS) - The RS contains the radar unit composed of the transmitterireceiver, stabilized antenna unit, and power supply elements. The function of the radar unit i s t o transmit radio frequency energy t o the target area, receive alt i tude and video return, and route the detected video and a1 titude information to the digital correl ator unit.

o Warhead Section (WHS) - The WHS contains an a i r burst/surface burst. (AB/SB) nuclear warhead, rate gyro, interconnecting electrical networks, and pass-through mi ssi 1 e electrical networks.

o Propulsion Section, Firs t and Second Stage - Each of the propulsion sections consists of a Kevlar motor case serving as a p ro~e l lan t container - . . and the outer skin of the missile.

The training missile will have the same dimensions and weight as a tactical missile. The major difference i s the lack of ordnance in the training missile.
