Community: In 1993, Richard ran for City Council in Houston’s District G (Galleria Area). He used his speaking ability to create the need for more police presence at a time when Houston Crime was high.

HISD: In 1995, he published “Keeping Kids Safe” and raised sponsor money to print 30,000 copies in English and Spanish to donate to teachers and parents in the Houston ISD for child safety programs.
