DESCRIPTION
The chameleon-like artist George Condo appropriates elements of many past genres and styles of painting, including Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, and vanitas still lifes, infusing a contemporary sensibility into these historically loaded forms of Western European painting. Includes an essay by Tom Moody and documentation on the artist’s career. (Exhibition on view March 11 – April 23, 1995)
