MEMBER SPOTLIGHT MR. JIM O’BANNON This month, we are spotlighting Mr. Jim O’Bannon. He is a crude oil buyer for Plains Marketing and is
currently serving on our House Committee. Jim was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He
moved to Shreveport in 1981 and began working as an independent landman. He currently serves on the board of the ALT Oilmen’s Shootout and has previously served on the board of the Petroleum Club as well as the Norwela Council of Boy Scouts. Jim has been a member of the Petroleum Club for 28 years and says he joined for the networking. You can find him having lunch almost every day at the club. Lunch is his favorite thing—especially lunch in the Member’s Lounge where no topic is off limits! His tip for new members is to make time to come to the member events because you always make new connections.
Jim enjoys boating, sporting clays and is an accomplished woodworker. For those of you that don’t know, he built all the small tables in the Member’s Lounge and refurbished the dining and bar tables as well as assisting in other club repairs. Thank you Jim for your time and commitment to making our club shine! We appreciate all you do!
March ‘‘Mate Date’’ MondayMonday March 2 is Mate Date Monday. Bring your spouse to
the Main Dining Room buffet and your lunch is free! Just another perk for being a member of the Petroleum Club.

The Petroleum Club had the privilege of celebrating the marriage of Caroline Pearce and Barry Harper in January. We at the Club have known the Pearce family since Caroline was born, so it was personal for us! The reception was rocking with some unique culinary creations, beautiful décor and of course, a beautiful bride and groom! Many congratulations to the Harpers for a lifetime of love and happiness!
Pearce Harper Reception
Mr. Jimmy Marston hosted his annual duck dinner here at the Petroleum Club on February 11. Chef Wes created a menu that included Mr. Marston’s ducks in every course (except dessert)! His sister designed all the fabulous décor the set the mood from the lobby to the dining room. We had a great time serving this fun group! Thank you Mr. Marston for choosing the Petroleum Club!
