DESCRIPTION
Presentation from the April to May second quarter of 2015 highlighting the data collected during this time and many memorable times
Citation preview
Aims and Objectives Continuation of the MBRS Synoptic Monitoring Program (SMP). Daily bird monitoring. Incidental sightings program. Continuation of weekly beach cleans within the reserve, monitoring waste composition and trends. English language and environmental education classes to the people of Punta Allen. PADI Open Water Diver training
MBRS fish and coral monitoring for last quarter
We finished 3 sites for fish (PJ05, PJ10, PL20) and 4 for coral (PJ05, PJ10, PL20, PL10) !
For fish the data that we gathered doing this transects was the abundance and the size This data help us calculate the biomass that will help us understand the changes in the community dynamics and will lead us to identify the human impacts in the area.
The coral and sessile (anemones, algae etc) data can be used to understand the growth/recovery rates as well as giving us an ongoing view on the overall health with the reef.
