Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You! We would like to say a big thank you for all of the kind donations for the American Heart Association. We raised $187.00, and all of that money goes directly to the AHA. I know that money will be put to good use. I hope you were able to view some of the statistics and warning signs of heart attacks, and strokes that were in the email sent out. You can always go to www.heart.org if you are wanting to view information, facts, symptoms, etc.....Cardiovascular exercise is a part of our every day PE classes, so that the students learn at a young age the importance of keeping their heart healthy.

Arts Festival Arts Festival Arts Festival Arts Festival The district's 12th Annual Fine Arts Festival will be held at Lone Star College-Kingwood on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a fun-filled day where children and adults are actively involved making art, attending student musical performances, viewing Humble ISD student art displays and more. Each year, the festival is made possible because of volunteers who help set up, take down, and staff creative art-making booths. Volunteers from sixth grade through adult are needed and are asked to sign up for two-hour shifts. Most volunteers will be involved in assisting students at creation stations. Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to email Robin Clark, an elementary art teacher and festival volunteer coordinator, at [email protected]. The shifts available for Saturday volunteering are 9 to 11 a.m. , 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Volunteers also are needed for Friday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help set up the festival.
Summer Credit by ExamSummer Credit by ExamSummer Credit by ExamSummer Credit by Exam Each summer Humble ISD provides testing sessions for students who wish to attempt credit by exam for acceleration to skip a grade and/or course. Current 6

students who wish to advance to an honors mathematics class will follow the same testing procedure and schedule as all other students taking credit by exam for acceleration. Please publicize this information about these opportunities at your campus, as appropriate. This spring we will have two testing sessions on Saturday, May 17 and Saturday, May 31. We will have summer testing every Thursday beginning June 13.
Summer Testing Sessions Thursday, June 12 Thursday, June 19 Thursday, June 26 Thursday, July 10 Thursday, July 17 Thursday, July 24 Thursday, July 31
8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Location: ISC

Eligibility: We honor all requests for credit by
exam for acceleration. By state rule, there is no charge to parents for the testing; the district purchases the tests from Texas Tech University.
Testing Criteria: To skip a grade, elementary
students must take 4 tests and middle school students must take 8 tests – Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science for the grade they wish to skip. A score of 80% is required on all tests for the student to be eligible to skip the grade. Tests are given over 2-3 days with two tests each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a lunch break in between. Students are allowed 3 hours for each test although they rarely use that much time. Parents should be available on testing days so they can be reached if students finish early.
