    NREGA- Salient Features

    Over-Reporting : No of households issued a job card is greater thanno of households in the district

    Delays : issuance of job card, allocation of work in 15 days

    Discrimination: against SCs, Women and disabled

    Inflated wage figures : Actual figures much less than what receivedby the workers

    No compensation paid in case of delay beyond 15 days in payment

    Recent Policy implementations

    If revenue spending that creates assets is counted as

    capital expenditure Revenue deficit will come

    down to 2.7% of GDP next fiscal from budgeted 4%

    NREGA builds mostly capital assets 40100 cr

    Funding NREGA - of the Rs 40,100 crore - 47% to

    be financed from the National Investment Fund.
