The 17x27 Plain Tile is a highly appealing traditional clay plain roof tileproduced at Phalempin in the north of France. The mellow, textured surface
combines the beautiful appearance of mature handmade tiles with affordableprices. Unique anti-capillary channels ensure enhanced performance andpeace of mind at pitches as low as 30°. The Phalempin 17x27 integrates
perfectly with the Imerys PV System of photovoltaic panels.
Available in eight distinctive colours, which may be used individuallyor mixed on site to create your own distinctive blend. Millennium issupplied pre-mixed.

The Phalempin range includes a number ofaccessories designed to enhance verticalinstallations, including the decorativeOrnamental Club Tile (Ref 500.52) and Vertical Angle Tiles (Refs 500.53 and 500.54).

Phalempin Dry Fix and Ventilation
Dry Fix for Interlocking Ridges, Hips and VergesInstallation GuidelinesPhalempin clay plain tiles must be laid broken-bonded and, in accordance withgood working practice, should be selected from at least three pallets. Tiles shouldbe installed in accordance with BS 5534 (2003), Code of Practice for Slating andTiling and BS 8000 part 6 (1990), Workmanship on Building Sites.

Ventilation should be in accordance with BS5534 (2003) Code of Practice for Slating andTiling and BS 5250 (2002) Code of Practice forthe Control of Ventilation.
Depending of roof design and the membranesused, Imerys can provide independent UPVCRidge Vents or continuous dry vent ridge systemsfor high level ventilation. Individual UPVC rooftile vents are available for all Imerys profiles.
These may also be used for soil vent extractionto meet the new requirements of the BuildingRegulation Approved Document C2.
Spacings for the above Imerys vents to achive5,000mm2/m: 2.0m at high level.
The NHBC has now made the dry fixing of all mortar bedded ridges and hipsmandatory, supplementary mechanical fixing is now required.
Imerys roof tiles provide dry fix solutions forall ridges, hips, and verge areas. The result isfaster, cleaner, and more effective.
