The second ABI Impact Machine that was acquired recently, same function as the first one. In addition, Rotary Drill with Auger can be attached in place of the Vibratory Hammer, Mandrel, and Hopper. Peter Ground Improvement, Inc. was incorporated in the Philippines on September 17, 1991 with SEC Registration Number 195776. Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation

The Peripheral Bundwall fo the Tank Farm at the Pasacao Depot is a riprapped Slope Embankment about 4.5m high from the finish grade of the Depot office.

Ocular inspection shows cracks on the lateral surfaces of the existing riprapped embankment which would indicate ground movement and may collapse if not remediated. The slopes were stabilized using Jet Grouting.

The Project consists of providing slope protection for the excavation works for the Proposed 38 Storey Structure having four (4) level basement within the Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig Metro Manila.

Globe Telecom Inc.

The 4 Storey Globe Telecom Office Building was experiencing distress as evidenced by the visible cracks on beams and CHB walls due to additional loads (cell site batteries and telecommunications switching equipment) which are being stored but were not considered in the original design. The building was underpinned successfully using Jet Grouting.

National Historical Commission of the Philippines

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) – World Heritage Committee has inscribed (on 11 December 1993) the Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion (Our Lady of the Asumption) Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, as one of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines on the World Heritage List.

The Church was stabilized and underpinned using Jet Grouting to arrest further tilting and settlements.

BISCOM Inc.

The 18 x 35 x 1.2m thick Mat Foundation for the Proposed J.T.A. Boiler Building for the Binalbagan Isabela Sugar Company Inc. needs to be supported due to the very poor soil of the proposed location. Driving of Precast Piles was halted due to the heavy vibrations encountered which could adjacent boiler building threaten the adjacent Boiler Building through settlements of loose sands during driving. The site was underpinned successfully using Jet Grouting.

Hanjin Itochu Joint Venture

A pier supporting 60m long span Precast Concrete Box Girder for a light rail transit crossing a river experienced significant settlements immediately upon placement of the Girders (Dead Load). The pier is supported on six (6) 1500 mm diameter bored piles designed to be socketed into the bedrock at least 2.0m based on design requirements. The structure started to settle during the erection of the superstructure, with an initial settlement of 36mm for a dead load of 700 metric tons to a maximum settlement of 45.7mm for a load of 1600 metric tons at the time construction was halted. The pier was designed to carry a maximum total load of 2100 metric tons. Jet Grouting was used to underpin the pile caps.

A semi robotic and highly specialized drilling machine. It is an Electrically motorized equipment supplied from a main power source or from a 650 KVA Genset which supplies the whole Jet Grouting operation.

I. E’ GRID PRODUCTS

E’ GRID Products are advanced geosynthetics with a competitive range of engineering properties including strength, modulus, weathering resistance, corrosion resistance and creep performance that are the truly world class.

E’ GRID Uniaxial and Biaxial Geogrids are manufactured by stretching High Quality punched sheets of engineering grades of polymers under closely controlled conditions. The structures of optimized node ribs and bars that this produces have a significant effect on the spreading of loads in soils. Generally, a polymer has molecular chains distributed randomly with similar properties in all directions.

The principle of manufacturing punched and stretched Geogrids relies upon greatly improved mechanical properties in the direction of orientation. The orientation improves polymer strength.

The control of orientation in the nodes has a significant effect on the tensile properties and creep performance of the grid. This feature has been optimized in E’GRID Geogrids. Orientation gives a suitable arrangement of the polymer molecular chains resulting in improved tensile modulus. Orientation greatly reduces strain under long-term constant loading, essential dimensional stability in construction work.

A high level of resistance to Ultra-Violet Light through incorporation of 2% of weathering-grade Carbon Black is well dispersed in the polymer matrix. These products may be used for many years in exposed conditions.

A good creep performance under sustained loading is essential for the use of geogrids in critical structures such as walls, abutments, and steep embankment.

The load dispersal effect from the interlocking mechanism is more effective and can reduce sub-base thickness and construction cost. E’GRID Geogrids can be used with virtually any kind of fill material.

E’GRID Geogrids can provide reinforcement and improve the bearing capacity and factor of safety of a structure and reduce construction costs.

a. E’GRID UNIAXIAL GEOGRIDSE’GRID Uniaxial Geogrids are meshes with elongated apertures manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). These geogrids are extremely durable. They have been tested in environments from pH 1.6 to pH 12.6. Any fill within this range with appropriate engineering properties may be used with E’GRID Uniaxial Geogrids.

The main characteristics of E’GRID Uniaxial Geogrids are high strength and low creep. They have good resistance to vibration, base deformation and earthquakes.They improve the bearing capacity and factor of safety of a structure. They reduce construction time and cost since they can be easily installed and the other materials used for the construction are locally available.E’GRID Uniaxial Geogrids are primarily used for reinforcing of walls, abutments and slopes under long-term high loading. They are the main components of a Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls (MSEW). MSE Walls may be used in conjunction with intermediate foundations, driven and bored piles, and jet-grouted columns in areas with soft soils.





b. E’GRID BIAXIAL GEOGRIDS

The properties of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids, made of Polypropylene (PP), with their square apertures, high tensile strength and optimized geometry of nodes and ribs make them equal to any other similar material. The reinforcing action of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids relies mainly in increasing the shearing resistance within a soil by a process of interlocking between the square ribs and the soil. The grid apertures and filaments react with the aggregate to create an interlock which imparts strength and stiffness to the aggregate layer minimizing potential movements of the stones that can lead to mud pumping. Therefore, they prevent mud pumping.

Applied in Roads, Railways, Ports and Other Paved AreasOne layer or multi–layer of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrid construction distributes loading and disperses stress more effectively, leading to the reduction in differential settlement and improved foundation bearing capacity.

Applied in Airport RunwaysA tough platform can be established with E’GRID Biaxial Geogrid reinforcement. Resistance to the impact of aircraft take-off and landing is improved with more effective and immediate load dispersal.

Applied in Temporary Roads and Other Unpaved AreasE’GRID reinforcement gives ease of construction ofpavements with reduced construction time and cost.

E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids reduce differential settlement through the improvement of load distribution in the affected area. With the use of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids a savings of 30% on aggregate thickness will transpire. The lifespan of roads is being improved and their maintenance costs are being reduced.

c. E’GRID POLYMER GABION & MATTRESS

E’GRID Polymer Gabion and Mattresses are made of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids. E’GRID Polymer Gabions and Mattresses, with their simplicity of construction, built-in permeability and flexibility, offer a wide range of applications ranging from gravity earth retaining wall to river and coastal protection. They are ideal for ground engineering applications since they are manufactured from high strength polymer, Polypropylene (PP), and their inherent chemicals inertness.

E’GRID Polymer Gabions and Mattresses are resistant to all naturally occurring soil acids and alkalis ranging from pH 2 to pH 9. They are resistant to corrosion. They are also flexible enough to handle slight deformations in the sub-surfaced soils. They are lightweight, easy to transport, and to handle on site. Also, they are supplied in collapsed form for speedy assembly on site. These products have the physical and chemical properties of E’GRID Biaxial Geogrids, such as their resistance to Ultra-Violet Light.

d. E’GRID GEOCELLS (E’GRID GC)

E’GRID GC is a three-dimensional cellular confinement structure based on polypropylene or polyethylene for multiple usages in the construction fields, horticulture, landscape gardening, and many others. E’GRID GC mattress creates a firm foundation filled with granular material and can be used in rapid construction on the weak soil without excavation and removal of subsoil.

E’GRID GC is primarily used for soil drainage for houses and cellar walls and soil stabilization for private parking areas and access roads, and for temporary streets and road sides. They can also be used as reinforcements to slopes, embankments and channel liners. Moreover, they can be used for stabilization of foundations for sports fields’ applications, landfills, etc.





II. CONCRETE CANVASTM

Concrete CanvasTM (CC) is a flexible, concrete impregnated fabric that hardens when hydrated to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layer. CC allows concrete construction without the need for plant or mixing equipment. Simply position the Canvas and just add water.

Concrete CanvasTM consists of a 3-dimensional fiber matrix containing a specially formulated dry concrete mix. A PVC backing on one surface of the Canvas ensures the material is completely water proof. The material can be hydrated either by spraying or by being fully immersed in water. Once set, the fibers reinforce the concrete, preventing crack propagation and providing a safe plastic failure mode. CC is available in 3 thicknesses: CC5, CC8 and CC13, which are 5, 8 and 13mm thick respectively.

CC User Benefits:Rapid Install – CC can be laid at the rate of 200 sqm/hour, up to 10 times faster than conventional concrete solutions.Easy to Use – CC is available in man portable rolls for applications with limited access. The

CC Key Properties:Water Proof – The PVC backing on one surface of the Canvas ensures that the material has excellent impermeability.Strong – The fiber reinforcement prevents cracking, absorbs energy from impacts and provides a stable failure mode.Durable – CC is chemically resistant, has good weathering performance and will not degrade in UV.Flexible – CC has good drape characteristics and will closely follow the profile of any ditch or embankment. The material can negotiate tight bends and fit around existing infrastructure. Unset CC can be cut or tailored using the basic hand tools.

CC Applications:Ditch Lining – CC can be rapidly unrolled to form a ditch or channel lining. It is significantly quicker, easier and less expensive to install than conventional concrete ditch lining and requires no specialist plant equipment. CC can be laid at a rate of 200sqm/hr. by a 3 man team.Slope Protection – CC can be used to stabilize and protect slopes as a replacement for shotcrete and steel mesh. It is typically faster to install, lower cost and requires less specialist plant equipment. CC also helps eliminate the risks associated with shotcrete rebound and debris.Bund Lining – CC provides a cost-effective alternative to poured or sprayed concrete for lining secondary containment bunds. It acts as an effective weed barrier, reducing maintenance costs as well as providing additional levels of impermeability and fire protection. Its ability to be installed quickly reduces time on site, while the availability of man-portable rolls allows for installation in areas with reduced access.Remediation – CC can be used to rapidly reline and refurbish existing concrete structures suffering from environmental degradation and cracking.Culvert Lining – CC can be used as a cost-effective alternative to bitumen spraying or re-building damaged culverts, while offering a durable means of providing erosion protection.

III. E’GRID 3D EROSION MAT

E’GRID 3D EROSION MAT is a robust, high tensile strength, three-dimensional structure with outstanding drape qualities, which enables it to conform to and maintain intimate contact with the soil profile. With the E’GRID 3D Erosion Mat completely filled with soil, and with an established grass root system, a tenacious and permanent erosion resistant cover is provided to slope, banks and bunds.

E’GRID 3D Erosion Mats are use for sites where turf cannot stand up to high velocity flow and where riprap and concrete paving is unacceptable or overkill. E’GRID 3D Erosion Mats are multi-layered polyethylene netting that reinforces the turf of grassed waterways and slopes against washout. E’GRID 3D Erosion Mats are effectively used on lakeshores, reservoirs, riverbanks, riverbeds, and ditches, slopes of dykes, and road embankments and cuttings





IV. CeTeau PVD DRAINS

PREFABRICATED Vertical Drains (PVDs) are artificially created drainage paths which are installed to accomplish the following objectives: a) to accelerate the consolidation process of soft, saturated clays and b) to expedite strength increase to improve the stability of embankments built on weak clay subsoil. Most PVDs are bands consisting of a synthetic Geotextile jacket surrounding a plastic core. The jacket functions as a physical barrier separating the core flow channels from the surrounding fine-grained soils and likewise serves as a filter to limit the passage of fine grained material into the core of the drain. The core, on the other hand, provides structural support for the jacket and provides longitudinal flow paths along the drain length.

PRESSURE CALIBRATION

We own and operate what is probably the highest standard of pressure measurement in the country with our Ruska 2465 deadweight pressure calibrator which is also being utilized by the US N.I.S.T. as a transfer standard. We have several other pressure standards that provide high accuracy and precision calibrations for items such as pressure calibrators, pressure transducers, pressure gauges, indicators, regulators, safety valves, relief valves and control valves. We also calibrate other pressure devices such as transmitters, pneumatic positioners, pressure switches and other process pressure instruments. Special equipment such as sphygmomanometers, manometers and barometers are also within our scope of capabilities

TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION

Our temperature calibration and measurement capabilities are a comprehensive and highly reliable solution to all your temperature requirements. We have solutions to calibrate high accuracy devices with our high accuracy array of calibration equipment and we can also meet your calibration requirements in terms of range of measurement scope. We can measure deep within negative temperature to high temperature. Our laboratory services can calibrate and measure your resistance-based temperature sensors and devices such as PRTs, RTDs and thermocouples. We can also calibrate your liquid-in-glass thermometers, gas thermometers and thermohygrometers. Temperature gauges, bi-metallic gauges, wall thermometers, dial gauges, remote dial gauges and the like are also well within our range of capabilities.

MASS CALIBRATION

Our laboratory Mass Metrology section is a complete solution to all your mass metrology requirements. We can calibrate test weights, balances and other weighing devices from high grade laboratory applications to industrial applications. We have test weight calibration capabilities up to F1 class and we can calibrate weighing devices such as scales and balances from industrial triple beam balances to digital analytical balances and everywhere in between. Typical applications would be top loading balances (analog and digital), hanging scales, microbalances and tension scales.

ELECTRICAL CALIBRATION

PGACALAB’s Electrical Calibration section is capable of performing the highest levels of industrial electrical calibration with our calibration reference standards. We can calibrate a variety of electrical test and measurement devices such as digital testers and mulitmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, clamp meters, ohmeters and other electrical metering devices. We can also calibrate oscilloscopes for all parameters with our dedicated Fluke oscilloscope calibrator. Our report generation and uncertainty calculations are automated with the use of the proprietary fluke MetCal software that we are using. Turnaround time is minimal due to the automation of tests powered by this software.

Laboratory Services Division





DIMENSIONAL CALIBRATION

Our laboratory has the capability to calibrate your typical and specialized dimensional hand and test tools. We can calibrate analog and digital calipers and micrometers, thickness gauges, steel rules, height gauges and steel tapes. We have a very efficient turnaround time so you do not have to part with your heavily used tools for long.

FLOW CALIBRATION

Our flow test facility was developed in house to provide our clients with a laboratory option for the calibration of flowmeters. We can perform calibrations by comparison with our high accuracy flowmeters to service both digital and manual flowmeters.

MEASUREMENT SERVICES

Apart from the calibration services we perform, we also conduct measurement tests for many applications. Our extensive list of measurement equipment allows us to measure parameters such as environmental temperature and pressure, magnetic strength, humidity, hardness, sound, gas measurement and air quality and infrared thermal analysis.

PROCESS INTRUMENT CALIBRATION

Our Field Services Division has extensive experience in the field of process instrument calibration. We have mastered calibrations for pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical, force and other specialized measurement parameters. Typical instruments to the mentioned parameters would include transmitters, sensors, transducers, controllers and switches. We have the capability to perform these calibrations on a bench level or as part of your control and instrumentation loop. To set us apart from the competition, we apply a “laboratory-grade” approach to industrial applications. This way, the customer is able to get a better picture of the performance of their instruments and assets and its corresponding effect on their processes.

This division of ours also has some very unique and creative services specifically in measurement services. Basically, if you can calibrate, you can measure. We can perform measurement services for temperature, pressure and humidity. Some obvious applications would be chambers, storage facilities and rooms. We also have the unique capability to measure magnetic strength that allows Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical companies who utilize magnetic filtration to have a 3rd party validate their safeguards.

FLOW CALIBRATION

We have the full capability to calibrate virtually all types of flowmeters through a variety of procedures in the most difficult of circumstances and locations. We have serviced flowmeters in very hot environments to extremely hygienic areas to flowmeters on sea going vessels. Whether you have food or pharmaceutical grade electromagnetic magnetic flowmeters or rugged large diameter vortex flowmeters, our services will provide for you the most accurate and reliable flowmeter calibration services in the country. We can even also calibrate rotary and mechanical type flowmeters. So whatever flowmeter calibration requirements you may have on your site or your customer’s, you can count on us for fast, accurate and reliable flow services.

PRESSURE CALIBRATION

We have a wide arsenal of pressure calibration standards. As such, we have arguably the fastest pressure calibration services in the country. We calibrate from vacuum applications to high pressures of up to 700 bar (10,000 psi) using the most accurate portable pressure standards available today. We can calibrate pressure transmitters, transducers, sensors and switches. We also specialize in pressure gauge calibrations. As part of our field pressure services, we have the expertise to calibrate pressure relief valves and control valves.

LEVEL CALIBRATION

FORCE AND WEIGHING

We have extensive experience in calibrating weighing devices and force applications. We have the biggest capacity and capability to calibrate weighing devices from analytical and micro balances all the way up to truck scales and vertical silos/tanks. Aside from this we can calibrate force applications like Universal Testing Machines and Compression Machines. On the flip side, we can also calibrate test weights from 1mg to 2 tons and of course, even at your site.
