Mayon Volcano The perfectly symmetrical Mayon

Volcano rises just above the Albay Gulf, is the most active volcano in the Philippines. This volcano has eruptions dating all the way back to 1616!

Mt. Mayon LedgendOnce there was a beautiful princess named Daragang Magayon, and because she was so beautiful she had many princes and famous warriors that wanted her as a wife. Of all the people she could have chosen, she picked a man from a tribe that was a rival tribe and her parents would not approve. When the families found out about the affair the two decided to commit suicide together. They were buried separately and a few months after they were buried, a volcano started to grow right where the princess was buried. The volcano was later named after her for its beauty and perfection.
