three student expectations – Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be a Learner.
Our students and teachers deserve to have their everyday learning environments maximised by all
students abiding by the above mentioned student expectations. Our school expects our students to:

Mrs Stone and our school also achieved some wonderful persuasive texts written by our individual classes
that will be placed on display next week in the various escape rooms. I can’t wait to share and enjoy in
another spectacular Book Week at Rangeville next week.
NAPLAN Results
The collective school results for the 2017 NAPLAN test has been received. The student’s individual reports
will be received and distributed to families in the coming weeks. As a school we are proud of our solid
results for this year’s cohort of Year Three and Year Five students. Our quick analysis indicates that there
has been positive relative gains for our Year Five students in most areas. Our Reading, Spelling and
Grammar and Punctuation results for our Year Three students and our Reading, Writing, Spelling,
Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy results for our Year Five students continue to match the Nation.
Further in-depth analysis will be undertaken by all members of the school in the coming weeks and the
Individual Student Reports will be sent home next week.
School Opinion Survey
Thank you to our parents who have completed the online School Opinion Survey. We currently have 51 out
of 610 surveys completed. Please take the five minutes to complete this important survey so that we can
continue to improve our wonderful school for the future.
QParents
How exciting! We will be launching our QParents portal next week, Week 7, in
conjunction with Parent Teacher Online.
From a parents perspective it will make YOUR lives so much easier and your child’s
information will be so much more accessible.
How I hear you say? Just two easy examples for you to get excited about:
• When you sign up to QParents, you’ll be able to pay for 95% of excursions and school activities
using the Qparents App. Therefore, because paying bills will be so easy for Qparent users, from
Term 4, all cash collections will be via the office and no cash will be received via the classroom.
• Your student information will be easier to access: Semester 2 Report Cards will be available on
QParents in Week 9 Term 4 and paper copies available Week 10 Term 4.
Parent Teacher Interviews
The PTO Letters will be sent home by the end of next week (Week 7) and our Parent Teacher Interviews
will be again held in Week 9 of this term following the same format as Semester One with teachers
offering a mix of before and after school interviews depending on their availability.
Staff News:
• Our Leadership Team will be undertaking the first round of Leadership Training with Dr Stephen Brown
this Friday. Thank you to Mr Steve Smith and Mrs Donna Sense who supported our students,
community and staff during our absence.
• Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s): The next round of Professional Learning Communities will
be occurring in the near future. These days are important in which our teachers are provided time to
review your child’s and the cohorts data against our identified goals and allows them to collaborate
and plan the next steps forward to support our student learning. The next round of PLC’s are:
o NAPLAN Focus: Tuesday Week Seven for Years Three and Five
o Numeracy focus: Weeks Eight & Ten for all year levels
Congratulations to all of our students who participated in this year’s Range Zone Athletics Carnival. Mr
Cobb and our entire school were extremely proud of your sportsmanship and achievements.
Best of luck to our 23 students participating in the Athletes With Disabilities athletics carnival at Glennie
this Friday. Mr Cobb and our staff are looking forward to our students also making us extremely proud
with their positive sportsmanship and personal achievements.

Our Musical-‘The Artistocats’, under the leadership of Mrs Bridge is coming along beautifully. The cast are
working tirelessly learning their lines and chorography and it will be a very special evening again on the
11th of September at the Empire Theatre. We can’t wait for this wonderful event again.
Finally best of luck to our Senior Choir who will be performing with Josh Arnold at this Sunday’s Cultural
Festival. It will be a spectacular event to see and hear so many students uniting by voice and body for
Toowoomba and our positive future.
