PhotoSnap Butterfly
Notes:
PhotoSnap designs consist of
rows of Satin stitches of
varying spacing settings.
The effect resembles the out-
put of a line printer.
In the Embroidery Canvas
window you can still OLE
into Paint, Corel PHOTO-
PAINT or Paint Shop Pro.
For best results with
PhotoSnap use images with
well defined or contrasting
colors or constantly varying
shades.

Zoom in on the butterfly wing section #1. Using a series
of left and right mouse clicks (just the same as if you were
digitizing using the closed curve tool) click around the
wing section #1. Use the backspace key to remove any
points that are not were you want them to be. Hit the
Enter key to close and crop the image. Use the Object

Remove the Picture
Select the picture and delete it.
Save the Design Select the drop down menu File > Save As > Wing 1.
Click on the Save button. Save the next designs as
Wing 2, and so on.
Select the drop down menu File > Close.
Repeat Steps to complete the design.
Click on the File Open icon and open the Master
PhotoSnap design file. (Because there are no stitches in this file
there is no thumbnail picture to preview.)
Repeat the previous steps for the other wings and body of the
butterfly. Note: I chose to use the Block Digitizing tool with a
Satin Stitch for the Butterfly Antenna after I put the design to-
gether.
Putting the Designs Together
Again click on the File Open icon and open the Master
PhotoSnap design.
Select the drop down menu File > Insert Design > Wing 1. If
the design doesn’t snap onto the correct position on the picture
click and drag it there. Insert the remaining design files moving
each to the correct position.
Select the Block Digitizing tool using the Satin Fill Stitch to
digitize the Butterfly Antenna.
Save the Completed Design.
Select and Delete the picture from behind the design if you have
an artista 200 or 730.
Save the design as PS Butterfly final.
Use additional stabilizer
when stitching out
PhotoSnap designs.
Because of the type of
stitches—PhotoSatin lines-
there is additional push/pull.
